2012 E92 Question re NAV volume...

OK, new car (2012 E92 with HK Audio) and question re the NAV. In all of my other cars, when the NAV lady speaks the instructions the volume of the radio/audio system would lessen so that you could hear her. This car, no. Is this a setting situation or is that just the way it is? If I am listening to the radio nice and loud I can hardly hear the NAV instructions.

I know that I can crank up the NAV instruction volume by turning the volume knob while the instructions are playing but that only overrides the loudness of the radio and is not an ideal solution.

120 views and not one answer or suggestion? Looks like I'm stuck.

I'm not really sure, but I also noticed the same thing in a 2012 528i, but my 2009 328i doesn't do that. I hope that is not something that they changed in later models.

Poor design if not adjustable. I have 5 year old Japanese cars that have better systems. Split screens showing freeway connectors, NAV directions wherein they tell you the name of the street to turn on, etc. I'm hoping I just haven't figured out how to use the BMW system yet.

I've always used the volume control knob to adjust the NAV volume.
I've never experienced the issue you seem to have where the volume of the music doesn't partially mute when a NAV direction is spoken.
I'll hunt around in my NAV and option screens to see if there is some sort of hidden gem to solve your problem. And then we'll hope it's the same in your car.

Thanks. I'd appreciate that.
