I've been getting a lot of questions from people if I'm still doing the valve stem seal jobs, the answer is YES! I've been booked up the last couple months, so PM me if you need the repair done so we can set up an appointment

Valve stem seals done for $2500!

Any idea if anything can be done to prevent this? Glad there is a cheaper repair than dealer if you're in the right locale, but it seems like it's inevitable. Anyone have any preventive thoughts / guidelines / suggestions?

Not sure where you are in Cali, but check out the link below. They will probably be your best repair alternative.

Good Luck!

I'm also in valley stream and psyched to know there's a bmw tech in town willing to do work on the side! (Might even know you somehow or an acquaintance) will definitely hit you up when needed.

Hi bmwoem1

This problem is common with the 4cylinder n42 and n46 motors too.
It seems as if the valve seals are of a poor quality.

Do you know if upgraded or performance valve seal versions are available?

Re: Valve Stem Seals

For all BMW owners with the valve stem problems. Bmwoem1 is the truth. I drove up from Raleigh NC to NY to to have this done and saved me a ton of money. It was worth it. No more embarrassing times at the stop light or a drive thru. BMWoem1 is a professional. Would recommend BMWOEM1 to anyone.

When I rebuilt my N62 engine I rebuilt the heads as well. The replacement aftermarket valve stem seals are of much greater quality than the OEM. I will have to review my order history to give you the exact manufacturer. I have put about 10k on the engine without any smoking issues whatsoever.
