Pulling to right fixed

just wanted to make it easy for anyone having this issue..

since day one i had my 2013 535 i had the pulling to the right...

thought this would be solved for the 2013 models but guess not..

after multiple trip to dealer replacing rims, tires, wheel alignments and arguments dealer finally solved the issue.

i had done research on the forum for solutions and brought to dealer but the kept insisting it what was only a wheel alignment.

they attempted 2 times and then actually asked to to pay for a 3rd and after arguments back and forth they fond the issues.

so long story short here is solution (well worked for my case) for the problem.

i hated to drive the car because of this pull but now car feels like new again

what a relief!

so what they did is the service manager said the right upper control arm was not on the right angle.

even thought the computers said it was all in spec. it was uneven so they had to replace it

the work form is below for you to look at..

so happy it is finally fixed and wanted to share with everyone to maybe help soemone else out !

enjoy!

You mean BMW has and is installing bent, i.e. defective control arms on cars. This doesn't speak well for their quality control.

LOL, I've seen a 528i badge on a car that was clearly a 535i. This was a car fresh off the truck.

No, I'm very serious. It was at Global imports in Atlanta about 4 years ago. I knew it was a factory mistake because it was a car that just came off the truck and it had not been prepared. They had a 528i badge on a 535i e60. I knew it was a 535i because it had the bigger exhaust pipes and the 535i sport wheels. The truck driver left it unlocked so I checked the engine to be sure.

2013 550i pull to the right fixed

I have to thank the board members and Irvine BMW for not giving me a hassle and fixing the pull to the right issue. See attached. Since the day I picked up the car it pulled. No it is super pleasant and I put 4 new Super Sport tires on. So much better than the run flats.

I might make an appt and go out to Irvine for that...

I wonder if the F10 and F01 have the same bits? I'm having the same issue pulling to the right, but my steering wheel is off-center. So maybe it just needs an alignment only?

Thanks for the info
Chris

Whoa!!! You're having problems with your 7 pulling?? WTF! After reading Needscafe write up on his new Porsche, my wife and I took a trip to SF and I thought it was great that my car wasn't pulling like that, it would drive me nuts....

I test drove a 550 before the 7 and I remember physically pulling the steering wheel left to stay straight... Yikes I couldn't see driving every day with that kind of pull... Keep us appraised on your 7!!

V/r, Tim.

My 2011 535xi wandered all over the place. An alignment and rotating the struts and reprograming from BMW helped, but there was something was wrong with the steering. I had to constantly correct while driving not only at interstate speeds, but around town speeds. Very strange handling on that car. On the highway at speed, the steering would pull at times and actually fight what you wanted do.

My 550 sport is better, but it still requires a lot of correction driving down a road. Much more than I would expect. It kind makes me want some of my underpowered Audi quattros. Rotors would warp like crazy and any change in wheel balance or alignment was instantly noticed. The RFT stuff IMO does not help anyone's cause to finding a good ride w/ handling and longevity.

Good luck!

Pulling to right fixed

Glad to see this thread. 2013 535 was pulling before I got to 250 miles on the ODO. Gonna take to dealer later this week.

Having the same issue, and my dealer wants to charge me for the alignment even though I presented them with a defect code. They said the alignment is only covered for the first 2k miles, so if I wanted "goodwill" I would have to take it where I bought it. ETT, thanks for a copy of your service records, but any chance you can put one up with your model and mileage? Evan's is a 550 so they are saying it wouldn't apply.

Additionally, they are telling me that defect code 32 00 02 97 is only good for cars under 2k miles. (doesn't make any sense to me)

Any help in getting this resolved would be appreciated.

that makes no sense. so a defective part is defective up until 1,999 miles and all of a sudden it becomes fixed on it own when it hits 2K miles? lol

time to look for a different dealer...

Alan
