The e46 who's who

So I am just starting this thread because I am always wondering what the hell you guys do!! Hobbies, married, kids, getting married, racing you do, employment, favorite drinks. Whatever! Dream car for sure... I will start obviously. Edit add: I am also a member of the WFP and have been a campaign leader for raising money for meals for students in Kenya. Also my future plans after graduating are to move to the Carolinas and hope to find a job in the aftermarket industry (like horse power freaks stuff) or go into the military sector of aerospace.

So I am Tanner, I live in Columbia MO where I attend college (MAE) I also work and do research for the university. I actually recently worked with our local Mizzou hero(the Guy who made a break through in cancer treatment.) I helped him set up his lab and have done troubleshooting for him throughout his research. I live in a house with my wife to be and two friends. I don't go out and party but rather sit on the deck with some friends a glass of Jack or Jager and a nice pipe of Virginia tobacco. I am a reptile keeper although I do have a chocolate lab named Nes I keep many reptiles(They have their own room lol.) My favorite one is my green iguana Jerald, he is also the only one with a name. I don't keep snakes just various lizards and a few poison dart frogs. My second life is the racecar team. I am on MU FSAE I do suspension and drivers aid research. I proud to announce this season will support driver adjustable Aero and ride height. These will be added the the already impressive driver display that lets you know what's going on. I am still trying to get into rally racing in group 2 and plan to purchase an e30 sometime in the near future to get me started. My dream car is an Aston Martin DB5 however it will be hard to buy anything that is not a bimmer now.

I'll play .

Name's Josh, born Vallejo, CA. Raised as an Oklahoman, currently reside in Edmond. I'm a shipment manager for Teaching Textbooks, I handle the distribution and accountability of our warehouses. We offer self-teaching textbooks for all general and major studies, as well as distribution to public and private schools. Served in the US Army as a Combat Engineer, toured throughout 2010. I live in a one-bedroom apartment with my wife of 6 months. She is a nutrition major and once she graduates plans on becoming a dietician. We plan on moving into a house in August, but in all honesty ill miss the close-quarters feeling. [ She's from China so she actually prefers it, lol] We have a 2010 Mini Cooper, a 07 Suzuki GSX-r 600, and my bimmer. No pets, no children. My hobbies are BMX, light bodybuilding, video games and drooling over all manner of car.

Dream car is hard to play into; are we talking totally-out-of-reach-unrealistic dream, or could-be-if-i-applied-myself dream car? Unrealistic, Ferrari F50 GT or F40 Competizione' . Realistic, BMW M1.

Dream car can be whatever you wish you could look at every night and drive every weekend. The deathstar and such shinanigans don't count.

I'm Justin, currently residing in Birmingham, AL. Overall, I'm generally not a very happy person and can often be found spewing profanities about the hand I've been dealt in life and how, despite my efforts, I can never get good cards.

Just a few years ago, I was working my way through the ranks on becoming a sponsored (read: professional) inline speed skater. I was the "coach" of a "team" we had locally and did very well for not having any formal training or professional coaching. Depression kicked in hard and I gave it up. I remember being 20 miles into a practice marathon (a marathon is 26.2 miles) and something in my brain said, "You're done. Take your skates off and go home." So I did. I hardly skated after that and haven't been in my skates in over a year.

I work a job I hate, which is quite possibly the primary cause of my grief. I make roughly 60% of the average pay of someone in my position around my area. I'm a full-time safety director for one of the largest [type redacted] contractors in the Southeast and I get treated like a company bitch.

I live with my girlfriend, two cats, and a dog in an overpriced apartment with lousy management and noisy neighbors who couldn't care less about our sanity. We're currently looking for a reasonably priced house, which I plan to take out a loan against my car in order to make the down payment (we can't save money because we CAN'T AFFORD IT; THANKS, CURRENT JOB!).

I've always loved cars and being able to drive them. I've often viewed myself as a car salesman, but I don't think I could take the risk of not having a steady income. I would love to land a spot in management at a dealership, but I don't have the experience or background for such a position. However, I'm beyond willing to learn what it takes if it means I get a steady paycheck to sell people cars.

I drive a 2001 BMW 330Ci (which is in desperate need of the new clutch and flywheel I ordered to be installed) and my girlfriend drives a 2003 Volkswagen Golf 2.0 (which needs the new axle installed and is also having other weird rattles and shakes).

My dream cars are as follows: F32 435i as the daily driver, F32 ///M4 as the sunny day car, E63 ///M6 as the "date night" car, and perhaps some kind of simple sport bike for when I get the craving for that feeling of freedom.

I would also like to nominate myself as "Bimmerfest's Most Miserable Member."

Hobbies are my e46 and also watching tv and hanging online, no money for much hobbies with this car so far.

Married, yes, no kids yet, but should practice enough first for getting good one.

No racing, and this car is too slow even for street racing, unless other one doesn't know how to drive.

I'm studying machine designing in university, was easy to get here but real bitch to get finished and out of here. Also working as service mechanic in nearby paper mills, and delivering some newspapers.

Favourite drink is good beer, but i rarely dislike any alcohol drink so much that i wouldn't have it if someone offer.

Dream car? E60 530i feels like some possible next step after this one... but if naming some dream which i don't expect to drive daily then it would be something like
1967 Chevelle SS, or maybe even
Ferrari Daytona, if money is really no issue.

Oh, yes, should mention, I live in Lappeenranta, it's town in Finland in Europe, next to russian border.

Negative, ghostrider. What's the fun of having a King Cobra if he's got no venom?

EDIT: I will now read all of lgr122's posts in a russian accent.

Awesome thread. But unfortunately I like to keep my life a bit private. If your on luxury4play we also have a thread like this and you can see what I do etc in there since it's a private forum
But I'll mention my dream car.

And the BMW I already drive.

Hmm...? Okay.. Let's see.. Name is Kris. I'm 36. Live in New Orleans, Louisiana.. Drive an 05 BMW 325Ci Convertible.. in 95 I bought a 69 Chevy Bel-air with a 327. In 97 I bought a 98 Pontiac Firebird. In 99 I sold my Bel-air. In 04 I bought an 05 Chrysler 300C. In 06 I sold my Firebird. In 09 my Chrysler was destroyed by a drunk driver who gave all false info & the police didn't write a report & so on and my job went out of business leaving me with no car for a while. No car to get another job, I went broke quick. I borrowed a crappy Saturn Vue for a while.. in 12 I was given a 01 Lincoln Continental which I destroyed.. I needed to buy a vehicle, couldnt afford new this time since I seem to be poor now, but didn't want to drive crap...and always wanted a convetible. Seems BMW was the only car that could fill my needs.

I'm an electrician.. I make dam' good money, but I'm poor. House note is expensive since home owners insurance keeps going up. I now have a car note and haven't had one since 06. I have a kid. I'm single, so I pay for everything myself.

I can't afford hobbies. Not sure what hobbies I would have though. I watch a lot of movies (netflix) play a lot of video games though I haven't bought a new one in a long ass time. I used to spend a lot of time in the casino where I enjoy roulette and tend to win a lot of money, but I never play unless the bills are paid first and well... they aren't. I always enjoyed modding my cars, but no money now. Being New Orleans is a generally awesome city, I enjoy riding around my city and doing whatever... Stuff is ALWAYS going on around here. Women used to be a hobby, but that was back when I had money.. I seem to be more thier hobby now. There is one that hangs around mostly to **** block it seems, but maybe it's a good thing since other women just think I have money.

Drink of choice is a 190 Octane. (Daiquirie) That's a New Orleans thing.. kinda an icee with alcohol. or I like Long Island Ice Tea.

My dream car ? I don't even know anymore. I always planned to work my way up to a Ferrari.. A Corvette was my poor man's dream and I was about to buy one before my Chrysler was destroyed and I suddenly became poor. But I think what I'mma do now is eventually buy some crap car to daily drive and fix the Convertible BMW up to be a weekend play/show car. Eventually I would love to build my own car. A kit car or even build my own custom body to put over some frame & engine. & no I have ZERO experience in anything llike that.

I would also like to challenge SPDSKTR for most miserable member.

Heheh, I'm actually trying to have one right now with my wife.. fingers crossed I'm the oldest of my generation in my family and have been the guardian and babysitter my whole life, I've got the patience for the first 8 months. I can see why you'd view it that way though, you seem to have a pessimistic view on life in general. Keep your head up brother, there's light at the end of any tunnel; unless you're digging intentionally.

Names James and Ive been around here for awhile I used to own an isp company (internet service provider) and a few other companies. I now host large vbulletin sights like bimmerfest. I dont host bimmerfest just sites like it.

Most of the sites are truck related. Ford, GM, Dodge, etc. Dont want to mention site names as some places dont like you doing that.

I live in Alabama and currently am striving to do "stuff". One of the problems of owning a hosting biz thats fully automated is I basically sleep, watch tv, get paid and sleep more. Sometimes I dont leave the house for weeks at a time.

So my current "goal" in life is to get out and drive my bmw and enjoy something besides sitting around so much

As for dream cars, well I would love one of the new tesla s's and I was shopping for a magnum pi era ferrari but Ive come to the conclusion I actually am quite happy with my little bmw and have decided to quit looking for more cars. So nothing in the dream car slot for now.

Id like to get to a bazillion miles on my automatic trans bmw just to do it. Thats about it....
