Hey Everyone

Just got a 2004 325xi today. I used to own a BMW 1996 (forgot what model) when I lived in Germany, but that was about 8 years ago. I just wanted to stop by and say hi.

I do have a few questions though.

1) I have noticed that the rear left tail light is lit on the display. Even though I just got it (dealer should have fixed it, but not a BMW dealer), will it still be considered under the recall. I am going through the service records and not seeing anything about it being repaired.

The previous owner took really good care of the vehicle and I am happy with the purchase.

There is only 1 really small dent that hopefully i can fix, but I never really worked on cars before. LOL

I hope I can learn a lot from you guys.

Thanks

Probably just light bulb went out, easy and cheap to change, but ofcourse it will save you some effort if dealer is willing to still fix it for you.

If you haven't had the recall done, they'd probably throw in a bulb if that's the issue. Sometimes the bulbs are fine, but the contacts get a little corroded/worn and will throw the light. It's easy to get in there and look at the condition of the connector (recall focus) - don't even need any tools to open it up.

Thanks guys.... I will check that out. The sensor says that the other side is also messed up. Just turned on this morning. At least it should not cost a lot. Especially if I can do it myself.
