I was just remote coded last night also. Okee is tremendous to work with, and very flexible from a schedule standpoint. Ultimately I want to do my own coding (I have the cable and the software), but my daughter/work/travel schedule hasn't been conducive to spending the time to bring myself up to speed. I was able to shake loose the time to install my hitch on my own a few weeks ago, and wanted to be able to use it.

I had the following coded:

  • Retrofit Trailer Hitch (BMW factory module/wiring is installed)
  • DVD In motion (if possible)
  • Disable Legal Disclaimers
  • Enable Rear Camera Zoom (trailer hitch)
  • Close windows/Sunroof with KeyFob
  • Fold/Unfold Side Mirrors with KeyFob
  • Start car without braking
  • Close Hatch from key and interior button
  • Wipers end cycle
  • Double hazard flashers/eurohazards
  • Run high beams and fog lights simultaneously
  • Change one touch lane change to 5 blinks
  • Digital speedometer
  • Disable speed overestimation
  • Disable seat belt chimes
  • Disable door chime

I haven't had a chance to test the trailer lighting yet (it was bloody cold outside last night), but everything else has been flawless. I can't recommend Okee enough!

I had start without brake activated as well. Sometimes I want to start the vehicle without having to get inside and step on the brake. Like when I want to warm up the car on a cold Minnesota winter morning, or when I am working on the car. Now I can even open the passenger door, lean in and start the car. Cool. have managed quite well for the past 25 plus years without this feature. Car will still not start unless it is in park, so the safety aspect is covered.

To me.. opening the door, stepping inside to sit down, pressing the brake and pushing the start button is pretty simple enough and doesn't take away any of my precious time doing it..

To some.. I guess opening the door, leaning in and reaching their hand into the other side of the steering wheel and pressing start is more convenient..

Removing the brake interlock was a pure convenience item--for those times on cold mornings when I want to start the car quickly. It beats pushing the brake with my hand

So what happens if you just want to turn on the accessories? How do you do that?

You put the key in. I don't have ComfortAccess on my X5.

I finally had a chance to test the trailer lights out tonight. Everything is working perfectly--lights, backup camera zoom, and PDC disable. Considering that I was hearing in the $350 range at the dealer to enable the trailer light module, I came out well ahead buying the cable and paying for the code.

Okee from Tripl3_O Coding just completed my remote coding and I couldn't be happier. Given I had zero interest in coding myself, I can say that the entire process was efficient and painless. Plus, if I ever need to re-code (following a dealer update) or add any coding, I have the cable and all the necessary files on my computer.

To elaborate on my last response, putting the key in turns on the accessories, pressing the start button briefly puts the vehicle in 'on' mode (the engine light lights, etc.), but does not start the vehicle. Holding the start button in a bit longer starts it.

Really.... I like that. why didn't you say that the first time. I might look into getting this done now. Do you know if it works this way with comfort access?

Truthfully, because I didn't pay attention to it until this morning

I'm not sure on ComfortAccess, but Okee may know.

Maybe a silly question, but is Okee, Triple O, and http://www.bmwminicoding.com, the same person?

I'm in NJ and will be getting both cars coded ASAP.

However, I'm looking to have the temperature show up on the digital dash, and I'm not sure Okee can do that. I guess I'll have to have that done separately at a later date.

This could be my savior! After being miserably let down by driving two hours to a coder only to be told they didn't have the right software, getting coded from the comfort of my recliner is worth whatever he's charging. Can't wait to get this done. Regarding remote access to computer, did anyone have any security concerns? He's not planting any backdoor trojans in there is he?

wifi for the laptop isn't exactly available / stable outside the house where the car is parked... ?

also does he ship you his cable and you just ship it back when done?

You definitely need a good solid wifi signal, because you need to have the laptop connected to the truck. I bought my cable. I paid in advance and Okee shipped it to me. I have decided to keep mine, in case of future coding, just seemed to be the easiest way for me.

I just got the wife's 2012 X5 coded by Okee / triple 0 coding. In and out in 30 mins. He has an associate in the Boston area who will actually do house calls. Very reasonable price and very courteous. Highly recommended. I have done most of my own coding on my Porsche but seriously the BMW learning curve was going to be too long for me to do.

I got the DVD movie, brighter AE, disable of orange markers on headlights, auto fold/unfold mirrors, remote close of hatch with keyfob, double flash hazard, removal of the disclaimer on idrive screen and the disabling of the silly fog light lighting up when turning.

Okee (OK) coded me 2-3 weeks ago.. both 328i and x5 - did an amazing job. basic stuff like everyone reported here so far.. remote mirrors, euro hazz, digital speed, fogs and high-beams.. etc. . The truth is- he's patient and very knowledgeable at what he does, gives suggestions on items.. and my cars feel more personalized! Don't try this yourself.. get OKEE!
