Coding Sirius Module on 2010 X5M

Hi guys. A friend of mine has an X5M (E70) and has installed a Sirius module. He needs it activated in his car so that the option is enabled.

I have an ICOM (clone) and the ISTA/P-ISTA/D software.

Does any one have any experience with this?

I am looking to find out what hardware and software/versions are needed, and what options need to be enabled. Also will I need some kind of activation code for the car to recognize it?

Thanks!

What year is this E70, and does it have a CIC (609 Nav Pro)?

What do you mean he installed a Sirius Module?

Did the car not come with 693_PREPARATION_SATELLITE_TUNER?

Thank you for your help as always Shawn. I think I have the full picture now after asking some questions.

It is a 2010 E70 X5M (produced in 12/2009)

It does have a CIC and does show 609 and 693 on the VIN report.

So I am sure you are correct it has the 693 and it just needs to be activated in the system so that it shows up as an option.

Will I need to purchase some kind of authorization code? What hardware/software is needed?

Thanks again!

Alll that is needed in this case is to buy a 6F Sat Radio FSC Code, Import and Activate in CIC, and Code car. You can get the FSC Code from the Dealer, although probably cheaper from Bimmer Retrofit.

In Fxx chassis, these would be the specific steps:

1) Change VO from 693_PREPARATION_SATELLITE_TUNER to 655_SATELLITE_TUNER and write VO to car:

2) Import and Activate 6F Sat Radio FSC Code:

http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=674597

3) VO Code Head Unit:

Connect => Read FA (VO) => Activate FA (VO) => Read SVT (VCM) => Right-Click on HU_CIC => Select CODE.

For Exx chassis, 1 and 3 will be done with NCS Expert. 2 though is a problem. You would have to use FSTool, which is near impossible to get, or ISAT/P, or if you buy the FSC Code from Bimmer Retrofit, they can also Import and Activate it remotely for an extra fee, and even code the car for that matter.
