Cobb tune on 335is --- disappointed!

Just wanted to give my review for those who are thinking of going with a cobb tune on the "is". Tried the stage 1+fmic aggressive map and is not worth it at all! Car is very hesitant when accelerating, barely pulls...that is with the stock map. Linear map is little better but does not do it, at least for me. After uninstalling the tune the car pulls just like in the beginning, very hard, overboost kicks in so much for the advertised increase in power of the cobb tune...I wonder if a custom cobb tune will do the trick? Anybody else experienced this?

Now....is a good time to remember: JB4 Stage 3 + WW Meth = ~$1k

No aftermarket FMIC needed. Somewhere North of 400 hp, wheel, achieved.

Massive. Proven. Sa-mooth. Map change, even while driving, hardly any effort at all. Certified good for 335is. Check in w/Bear if unsure.

What'd you pay for Cobb + FMIC? Or didn't you mean aftermarket FMIC?

You sir are the first person with a 335is to complain about Cobb. My advice is to uninstall the Cobb and check to see if you have the latest software for all modules from BMW, then reinstall the Cobb AP with stock throttle map. 80% sure you do not have the latest released BMW software.

Prob right. I've heard of no significant issues with Cobb's claims vs reality - OP has an installation glitch or his ride isn't config'd correctly.

Cobb tune on 335is --- disappointed!

Just recently I called bmw to ask about if there is a software update for my car and they said all is up to date. It is a 2012 I believe April 12 production...

That's what I was going to get (thanks to Bear ) but then I read all these good reviews about cobb and for the ease of use I had to try it.... I already had dinan fmic installed.

Would the linear map work better since I have a manual transmission? What I didn't do also is I didn't run with the tune for more than 50 miles, maybe it needs to adjust? Dunno...

Oooh ! Didnt know you had the MT 335is. My bad, I keep forgetting a MT exist for this car

I guess you have reinstalled the Cobb, I would run some logs and send to Cobb. First thing is first is the a dump I am pretty sure they will ask for that so they can compare

Maybe you need to run a more aggressive map. The 335IS is tuned already when compared to the 335I version. I would ask COBB.

I'm running the stage 1 fmic aggressive map, I don't have DP so that's the most aggressive map I can choose...

The IS has a different advance curve then the I & tolerates higher boost. Not sure how COBB recognizes it. With the JB4 before they introduced custom IS maps a pure stock IS with 93 octane fuel or better actually ran the 335i Map 2 which is limited to a minimum of downpipes installed on the 335i.

Might be worth an inquiry to COBB because all we can do is guess

Thanks...From what I read this stage 1 and fmic should be far more that I am looking for, but just don't see it stock "is" pulls so much harder! looks like i'm the only one who experienced this? Can't figure this one out...

For thousands of custom maps go visit bimmerboost and you should find something that is spot on for the 335is.
That is the most focused site I know of for those of us not running stock...

Update...tune runs better now, after completely uninstalling it, load the stage 1 linear map and then change maps to stage 1 fmic stock map. Now I'm happy with it, can't figure out why loading the stage 1 fmic map directly won't work...
I was thinking doing a custom tune but quoted $750...I see PTF etune is much cheaper...
