e90 325i performance/cosmetic advice and tips

Hello fellow BMW owners and enthusiasts,

I've recently bought my first BMW , a 2006 e90 325i and am loving it thus far. I'm interested in how far I can push my car performance wise. I know I can't expect reaching 330i power levels from any mods and I'm okay with a modest power increase for a modest amount of money, being that I'm a college student.

Thoughts of cost to power ratio with respect to:
-aftermarket cold air intake
-Performance air filter
-upgraded ECU chip
-Injen
-performance summer tires

I would like to stay in the sub $1000 range so i guess I'm limited to only the most effective add ons. Like i said, modest performance gains are what i want.

Also, what is your take on cosmetic mods such as:
-carbon fiber rear spoiler(tuner motor sports)
-tinted windows(car is black)
-painting rims black
-carbon fiber sigil for hood, trunk, wheels, steering whee
Another $1000 set aside for this.

Help will be appreciated.

actually... you can make 330i horsepower. Get a 3 stage intake manifold from a wrecker (there are lots), bolt it on, and get an Active Autowerke tune running 93 octane. You should be in the 265 hp range. I have done it, and it is a totally different car.

If you have an automatic, you also get better shifts (or so I am told - I have a manual).

I got this done by my local Indy repair shop, and all in, you would still have some of your mod money.

A wrecker is a used auto parts supplier. Google 'used bmw auto parts' and you will get lots.

Also, check out this thread for lots of great information on the 3 stage upgrade.

For the tune, go to 'Active Autowerke'.

Trust me, for a little over half your budget, you can transform the car.
