need help on new battery registration around south bay

my 2006 750Li is having transmission faulty issues since last 2 weeks. If I charged the battery using BMW charger overnight, the message will be gone but will come back next day.

Ordered OEM battery yesterday and plan to replace the battery over the weekend but Dinan service center won't have appointment available to register my battery until next Wednesday and just want to check if there is anyone can help me to register the new battery live close to south bay (Mountain view/sunnyvale/Cupertino/San Jose/Palo Alto and etc) and I can stop by after I replace the battery with case of beer of your choice

Thanks

Sorry buddy, when I read South Bay I thought you were further down south like San Diego...If that would have been the case I could have registered it for you.

Thank you for all the replies and PMs. I got my INPA tool working last night finally replaced and registered the battery this morning and cleared the fault message. So far the car is in good condition and no transmission fault anymore. Couple PMs to offering help with a price tag between $100 - $150 pushed me hard to make the INPA tool working on my old computer. If anyone around my area need help on registering battery please PM me and I will do it for free or maybe a bottle of beer

did you try this: http://bmwcoders.com/forum/1-post1.html and this: http://bmwcoders.com/forum/bmw-gt1-o...-software-328/ ? I also had CD from the person where I bought my connector but was not working. So I removed all the software I installed and from CD and use the one I downloaded from there. Try it and let me know if you still have issue.

I can help you to activate the battery if you want but can't help much on the computer setup. I tried 3 different laptops and finally worked on one of the oldest with vista running...

Re: need help on new battery registration around south bay

It's a shame people would try charging you $100 just to register your battery. I help for free if I can, glad you figured it out by yourself bro

I understand what your saying . I have done a lot of work for free
including Battery registration for members on this site & other sites
( just look at some of my past post , there are a lot of members on
this site & a couple other sites that I have never charged for any work
I have done on there cars ) , & some of the work was extensive & took
hours not minutes .

I have also charged people for work , but in my defense the work I
done that I charged for was all labor for removing parts & replacing
parts for retro-fits of entire interior & dash items . Now when I say
entire interior I am talking about seats front & back , pillars , carpets ,
door panels , dash as in cluster , mmi , wood trim , vents , cd changer ,
ask unit , drawers complete center console down to the carpet , steering
wheel & column , airbags . that's not even the half of it . I have also
done a couple body Facelifts that I charged for , whole front end hood ,
fenders , lights , bumper . Also rear of car trunk , bumper , lights & all the wiring .

I am 1 of the members who PM'ed him & told him I can do it for a fee .
I have a section of a shop now , So I charge to help myself with the rent
I have to pay for the section of the shop I rent & the use of the body lift .
In all honesty I don't think it is wrong of me to charge for some of the
work I do on other peoples cars .

in the end they can always say no & have it done by someone else & not me .

I agree. The fees some people charge are to cover their time, expenses and overhead.
