22s on my 7

I recently put rims on my 7 and to my surprise it didn't affect the ride like I thought it would honestly I thought it would ride like crap, but it feels like I still have the stock wheels on I got the rough riding idea after I drove my cousins 08 Mercedes cls 500surprisinly the cls isn't made for custom 22 inch wheels it rode horrible with custom wheels the 7 rides perfect and smooth, the only thing about my cousin's car is that it looks good on those wheels, which is senseless if it takes the comfort from the riding experience, well enough about that here are the pics

That's because your car is not lowered but still I find it very hard to believe that your car rides like stock on aftermarket 22inch wheels.

I don't feel a difference seriously its either the smooth texas streets or i'm imagining things but I took it to have the oil changed and the interior cleaned and the car rides as if the stock 18s are still present believe me or not the car still rides great

What part of Texas do you live in?? I'm in the outskirts of Houston and once I'm in Houston I regret taking my car. It's not a matter of believing you I just don't feel the same way and I'm pretty sure most other members with 22inch wheels don't either. On a positive note, glad you are enjoying your car.

I TOO HAVE 22'S ON MY CAR WRAPPED ON 245/30/22 AND RIDES AMAZING. THE SUSPENSION ON THESE 7'S ARE UNBELIEABLE. I DIDNT THINK IT WOULD DRIVE AS SMOOTH AS IT DOES. SO I KNOW WHAT YOUR TALKING ABOUT. CONGRATS ON THE RIMS LOOKS GOOD

Re: 22s on my 7

I had stock 18" with 245s all round and car felt like a boat going into corners and I think the active suspension exaggerated it too.I fitted 21" genuine alpinas with 285 rears and car feels so much better and no swaying etc I think the standard wheels are too narrow and small for the 7's

Good to hear your ride is smooth. Mine on 22's was rough. The difference is my car is a i, with the sport option. The shorter wheel base has a different ride. The S option has a stiffer ride, with a different ride height.

Stock is not 245's all around, stock is 245 in the front and 275 in the back! Whoever owned the car before you probably did that. Maybe it was a winter set?

Regardless, I'm glad it's better now

Mine is lowered on 22's with Eibachs. Ride quality is the same. Just feels a little heavier wheel size/weight.

Re: 22s on my 7

I have 22s on my 7 and the engine stutters or rumbles when accelerating when at a stop. Indy shop says the rims are too big and I should put the 20 or lower any input last pic is the replacement 19 inch rim

Sorry guys but I just don't get it! Why Lower, put on oversize wheels, etc. when that negatively impacts the ride and handling of our beloved 7's? Broken rims? Harsh ride, bottoming out? What am I missing?

style.......
Thats just how we do it down here in l.a.
I have 22's on my ride (750li) i hardly notice any difference in handling.
Nothing better than customizing and making my own style.
Dont get me wrong i love how these cars look stock also.
You should try it!
