Leg room with forward facing car seat

My daughter is 2 y/o and she will be riding in the back.. will she be stepping on the back of the front seat? Do any of you that have a car seat in the back. Do you use some sort of seat protector/bag?

Got to be back seat as you can't disable airbag
The legroom on side rear seat is I would say normal
Worse case bring a car seat to dealer to see for yourself

This is really dependant upon how tall you are and where your seat position is. If you are Peter Dinklage, this will be a non issue. If you are Yao Ming, yes she will be touching the back of the front seat. As for seat protectors, when my little cousins come for such I take their parent's lionheart: Prince-Lionheart

Doesn't the front passenger airbag turn off automatically if not enough weight is put on the seat?

Leg room with forward facing car seat

I have a 5 yr old in a front facing seat and it really depends on who is in the passenger seat... When my wife is in it, there is plenty of clearance since she is only 5'1"... On the other hand, when we are in her 128 our daughter is all over the back of the seat and we got a protector for her car... Worse case is we get another one... We love our X1 either way...

The reality is that putting a toddler in the car is going to create a mess and unless you shrink wrap them or use the Maxwell Smart cone of silence there is little you can do other than clean it up. I took out out front facing seat a few months ago and the mess underneath was amazing. Nothing that couldn't be vacuumed but there was a lot of crumbs, etc. By the way, he's 32 months old and even with the passenger seat 3/4 of the way back (this is an E90 by the way) his feet can't reach the seat back.

Yea toddlers are messy.. I have a plastic tray under the seat that collects all crumbs and things.. It gets real messy but it keeps most of the stuff out of the car..

We used to have this nifty seat protector that sat on the seat back and bottom. It worked great except where the buckles come though... That's where all the mess piled up

I think a car seat would be enough weight to trigger that but that's just my opinion. Also remember side airbag
