Well, it doesn't look like a bad deal. Getting into a car more than a few years old makes prices somewhat subjective. I'd want to get a pre-purchase inspection on it if I were thinking of buying it.

You can try searching for a BMW specialist shop here: http://www.bimmershops.com/

Call a few in your area and see what they would charge for one.

I know a few used car dealers down in the Waterbury-Naugatuck Valley area. Be sure to have an indy check out any used car for you.

Well, if that isn't a ringing endorsement, I don't know what is!

You misunderstood my post. I only know of a few used car dealers who may not be the most reliable sources. I get down to the Valley every couple months and have been to the auctions (used cars being sold to bonded dealers). Also my brother-in-law's (lives in Seymour) best friend has a lot in Waterbury. Over the years I've gotten to know a few people.
That's why I suggest that any car under consideration be independently evaluated. Always a good idea anyway.

Tell them you want to take it for a few hours to get an independent inspection of the car before purchase. If they refuse, you may have your answer as to the condition of the car right then and there.

If you can't find a good independent shop, consider going to a local dealership for the pre-purchase inspection as it's worth every dollar you spend on it, get a BMWCCA membership, and certain dealerships would then discount the work in the 10-18% range.

As Zooks said, if the seller refuses to allow you to get the car inspected, run like hell.
