More than very modest increase means turbo[s] or supercharger -- big bucks.

Far less are suspension mods - have you done anything there?

If you already have a three stage intake AA tune

If you already have a three stage intake AA tune.
No a three stage intake is not an aftermarket product.
Its what gives the 330 extra power .

How can you tell if it's and N51 as opposed to and N52 when person just
states is a 328?

All the best motor tunes are in the NA engine link plus add ons.

Here are some more links that may be useful

N51s are sold in California instead of N52s due to state emission standards, produces equal power but carries a longer warranty

I have a ca 06 325xi and it's a n52

I have a ca 06 325xi and it's a n52.
I understand its and option in some states also the
car may not be a Ca order so best to check.

With a N52 and a aa tune some have reported between 250 an 260 hp.
You must use 91 octane with the tune . Some have reported better gas
millage to.

The details are in the first link and last link I posted on the 3 stage upgrade.

AA tune is 499, you'll need to have a shop install it for you locally which will be an extra charge, or you can take out the ECU and send it to AA in florida for them to code. Keep in mind the coding will get wiped if you do a software update for the car, you'll need to pay the local shop to do the coding again. A way around this is to buy the AA simon tool, which is around 300, but it lets you do the flash yourself.

Another option is the Powerbox. Made by BMS which is the one that makes the very popular JB4 for the N54. The PBX is 279 and you can install yourself at home and sell it when you sell the car. It has different maps you can set from the driver seat to fine tune to your liking. link here: http://burgertuning.com/BMS_Power_Box.html

some shameless self promotion here, I have a powerbox that came out of the car i just sold last week, you can have it for a very nice discount if you are interested. You can PM me for more info
