downshift clunk, 2004 745li

2004 745li. Has anybody been able to fix this downshift clunking problem. Had the car at the dealership and they reset the adaptation codes and said the clunking should be gone after a couple of weeks. Although I don't drive the car much it still has not gone away. Don't like driving the car when every time you come to a stop you get that nice "clunk". Anytime anybody's in the car they ask "what the hell is that?". Tired of trying to explain. PLease help, anybody?

Changing the Guibo helped mine. Also did the software upgrade, helped a bit too. Search the site, there's a way to reset he computer by stepping on the gas pedal for 20 seconds when car is off and key is in. Sorry, don't know the details.

Was under CPO warranty, sorry don't know. But they do get chewed up and make that "clunk" sound when they're bad.

I had mine done in the UK and it did make a big difference. I also had a small oil leak from the transmission so had the sump/filter and oil changed. I believe it cost around 150 to get the guibo changed.

No need to drop tranny, I had a small leak of antifreeze, there a gasket there. It took 3hours. But u will need a lift. The exhaust needs to come down all plastics.
