Autoblog is not impressed

Have to say that I was surprised by this review. I haven't driven a current-generation Z4, but I was expecting it to be lighter and more fun than the article indicates. It's still really sexy and in the 4-cylinder trim it's still reasonably affordable.

I love my 2009 E89 but the article is right on about one thing- the E89 is a hravy weight porker at over 3500lbs. The car needs to be put on a serious diet. Even so, It is still the best and funniest car with the DCT transmission that I have ever been lucky enough to own.

The 4 cyl model with a manual tranny would be a lot more fun to drive. The s35 with DCT is more of a touring car IMO.

Certainly not a great review, but about the same as it was when the E89 was first introduced. Everybody seems to love the look but the handling and weight have always been an issue. It seems a lot of the handling issues go away with a new set of non-runflat tires, but of course they don't do that when they drive the car for the review. It is still a beautiful car and I personally enjoy driving mine, but I am still going to be leaving my car soon for the new 435i.

rmorin49- sure a lot of foreign cars for a military man? Just shows how good a BMW is,and how crappy American cars are. How does the Audi compare? Never owned one but I do wonder.
