Fault code readers for e34s?

I was looking to buy a fault code reader for my 95 BMW 540i! Nothing fancy just an extremely cheap one that will do the job, I seen a couple on eBay for 30 or 40 bucks will they work? It said airbags reset tool and fault code reader will this work?

I recently bought a 2? pin adapter to obd2 and a bluetooth obd2 scanner, they work good together. The BMW converter thing was 7$, and the bluetooth was 11$ free shipping on both. I use the torque app on my phone for it.

And this worked on your E34 ? So, you got Torque android to work with the bluetooth OBD2 adaptor (9 pin) while using an OBD1 convertor (9-20 pin) ? And this cost $20 inclusive of shipping ?

Were you able to read error codes on your E34 ? Live data ? Could you reset anything such as service indicators ?
