You have a 2010, every E60 from mid 2009 on has those buttons on the console, whether it has NAV or not. I can tell you that the 528, being the entry level 5er, rarely comes optioned out, so NAV is MUCH rarer on a 528 than the 535 or 550. If hitting the NAV button only brings up the trip info, and you have no DVD player, then, nope you do not have NAV, sorry Bro.

Does the LCD screen look like 16x9 format or 4x3 format. Meaning the 16x9 format will take the whole enclosure. If it has spaces on the side then there is no NAV.

My 2010 528i xDrive has Nav, but it uses a HD instead of a DVD for the maps. I suspect all 2010 and newer use the HD. Last week I upgraded the maps to 2013 using a flash drive to the USB port on the left side of the open glove box.

You probably don't have it, but you can always do a VIN check and that will tell you for sure.

Even in the CIC (which is what 2010 + cars have) there is a DVD player IF you have NAV. You can still get NAV DVDs at the dealership, the difference is that with CIC NAV the DVD does not have to remain in the drive. This is why you can have the capability of adding Video In Motion so you can watch DVDs while the car is moving.
With CIC you can update maps either through the DVD or the USB connection.

Do you know where I can get a NAV map update to copy to the USB? I have a 2010 535xi that I would like to update the maps hopefully without paying the big bucks at the dealer!

Video in Motion is already part of the car's software, but it must be coded for it to work.

As a general rule of thumb, if you have to ask if you have NAV, you probably don't have NAV.
