Frozen Black Paint? Opinions?

I have been offered to be able to get the frozen paint job in black on my 335i convertible. I was wondering if it is worth getting and if there happens to be a super hydrophobic coating that can be applied that doesn't change the look of the paint. My car is fully loaded and then some and I have hand controls since I have no legs.

What is your opinion of the paint?

Looks great but much more challenging to correct blemishes and care for. If you have the time (or friends) for the extra help, go for it. I would be tempted to try a different color than black to bring out the effect better. Good luck.

Frozen Black Paint? Opinions?

Looks cool when clean... But if this is your daily driver, it would be exposed to way too many contaminates. If I recall you have to repaint an entire panel, there's no blending. Those mental stresses alone would stop me from doing it.

Well you might want to read this.

And since you asked for opinions, I think matte finish cars look terrible. After spending an entire lifetime trying to keep my cars as shiny as possible it seems insane to me to pay a bunch of money to make a car permanently dull.

But if you like the look and don't mind all of the expense and issues then you should go for it. It's your car after all.

I saw a number of cars at a car show that had the frozen paint look but they had been wrapped in film. It looked as good as a paint job and would be much easier to maintain or replace, IMO.

its a fad that all the young kids are catching on to.

ive seen a few hondas/acuras around here with the frozen paint. in my opinion it doesn't look that good, but i can see how it might convey a sense of exclusivity to the driver.
