Removing GPS and installing standard bmw stereo.....help

I have a small, maybe big problem, I have an E38 7 series with sat nav and TV. The head unit packed in and it's a car I'm keeping but not to drive, more of a hobby, I got a standard bmw stereo to stick in but when I removed the GPS head unit the is a blue plug and a white plug but the standard bmw stereo only has one plug in the back, is there any simple way to get the standard stereo in and working, I know this is usually done the other way around but I don't want to have to buy a GPS head unit for a car I never use, any help appreciated

When you say head unit, do you mean the tape player in the dash? If you have Nav, the radio module is in the trunk and not embedded in the cassette player in the dash like us without Nav. The set up is very different between the two. I don't have much knowledge beyond that on the Nav but I don't think it will be an easy plug and play change.

The blue and white cables are in the car but the radio has the black plug, I was hoping there may be an adaptor to link the two

I think Chrisn7 was asking what was not working on your old system. Personally, I think it would be easier to repair whatever was not working on the original. I would be really surprised if you find an adapter that will convert the two systems.
