Well the "lines" have finally come to the F10, should be interesting to see what's included.

ETA: A 2k price bump to add.

I like it! Thanks BMW for doing a subtle and elegant facelift which doesn't alter the timeless dignity of this car.

Any power bumps for the 535i? Any info on that anywhere?

P.S: That article, like most car journo's, is ridiculously off the mark by saying "slimmer taillights". You can clearly see the taillights are identical. There's just some LED "line" that seems to cut through the top braking/blinker unit. I wonder what it's for.

I love that they're bringing the "Lines" over as it shows they're focusing on maintaining individuality as these cars sell more therefore get more mass market. Hopefully the M Sport pricing goes back up a little bit to maintain its relative "exclusiveness" and yes I would pay up for it if so. I also hope that they bring the "Sport" (non M) option back, a'la 3-Series, as one of the lines.

I like the current design more than the upcoming LCI.

Looks like one of the "Lines" isn't "Sport", so still the only Sport available is "M Sport".

The Lines will be Luxury or "Modern". I HATE that one of them is called "Modern", it just makes no sense.

I made a couple of points in another thread by mistake but I agree with you.

I'm wondering if it's too late to do a 2013 ED.

It appears that navigation and nappa leather will be standard in the 5series?

Was trying to figure that out as well, looks like navi is standard. Nappa is a no cost option when you choose a line. I guess you can still order a base 5, the press release leaves a lot unanswered. With that being said, the 2k price increase makes sense on the 528 and 535 but I'm still lost on the 550.

Wow, I wonder if the Nappa is standard on the M Sport, or does that not qualify as a "Line"?

If they all get Navi, does that mean no more of that hideous tiny screen, and all F10's get the widescreen options, or is that not directly related to Navi?

Seems like they didn't mention anything about the 535i, therefor I'm assuming it hasn't changed in anything engine and hopefully hasn't been renamed from "535i".

Pretty sure it's tied to the navi option. Here's the better write up and press release...

Looks like they're going to keep the badges that say "luxury" and "modern"

I just read it again and I agree with you. In that case the y will be $800 cheaper than the 2013 models. The price goes up by $2k but you get $2800 worth of options now included.
Another thought is that all the lines will now have no cost comfort seats because you had too have comfort seats to have nappa leather.

I hope they bring back the regular sport model as a sport line model.

It's a nice improvement. Looks like we will get some more colors, and the rims also seems to be nice. Extra 50 HP on the 550, I can live with that.

I'm not too crazy about these new features:

Chrome trim around navigation screen.
Blinker lights on side view mirrors.

The LCI horizontal LED tail light bars are indeed a different shape, slimmer, and now incorporate a third 'full' bar, like the 7er rear lights.

The turn signals are also different.

Well, I for one don't like what I've seen of the F30 "lines". For example, if interior colors are limited in specific lines, I won't be happy. I like a more traditional package pricing and mix-and-match. If you want to be sports oriented, take the sport pack. Continue to offer package-specific colors (I.e., Carbon Black) and possibly additional choices (I.e. Red) for a package. Yes, it will be interesting to see.

Yeah I noticed that. I meant that the press material seems to be trying to say that the taillight designs themselves are slimmer which isn't the case.

Personally, the pre-LCI grill is much cleaner and fits the overall exterior better. The chrome trim on the Nav is kind of tacky and I do not like the turn signals on rear view mirrors at all. The interior changes are good overall. The touch pad will be useless, but I like the way it looks. On the exterior, I would say a downgrade from preLCI. With no changes on the N55, looks like I'm waiting for the redesign.

Can't really tell, but how are the rear lamps different? Are they darker?

I can't really tell if they're darker but they do look thinner. I have to say I agree with the negative reaction to the placement of the turn signals. They kept the side turn signal location for the badges of the different lines instead of just deleting it all together. Looks bad IMO.

ETA: after reading the press release again it looks like the SAT option is standard on the 550, so that takes $500 off the $2k price increase.

The luxury line is not bad. Wheels seem similar to current non-M-Sport models. Didn't like modern line in f30 and don't like it in f10.

Yeah, I hate the names and the whole "line" options now. Completely unnecessary.

On the F30, the modern line has the hideous all beige interior.
