what to do about missing kidney grill on e90 335xi sedan

I "lost" one of my e90 grills. I suspect I went over a bad pothole (I heard a plastic sounding "clink" which must have been the grill falling off).

My questions:

1. I'm assuming the grill is just cosmetic and it will not harm the car to drive around without one until I get it fixed?

2. I will search the forum, but where are the best places to get replacement exterior parts online?

3. I've looked around a litlte and I've seem "blackout" and carbon fiber grill replacements. Do they look good on ANY BMW or do people find them cheesy. They seem to look good on white cars or on black cars where the whole car (rims, etc) is black. My car is monaco blue with saddle brown interior

4. It seems like the repair is pretty easy to do yourself right?

5. I suspect they won't replace it under warranty right? My car has a month or so left on the warranty.

Thanks.

You can always ask the dealer is it is covered. Otherwise there are people selling their used ones in the classifieds. My car had matte black and I felt it was cheesy. The glossy black from bmw is a better look imo.

**** no a first reaction...then, ?

If it's a defective part they should. But who's to say? Dealers famous for cheapin' out in last days of warranty.

The matte black doesn't do it for me... I got piano black on Arctic Metalic and it looks really aggressive. If you have a pre-LCI it does wonders to hide the mustache. If you liked the chrome, I can understand that, and you could probably find one used somewhere, as mentioned.

Right as you are, I have actually seen one fall off when a guy stopped at a light.

I have a 2009 335xi with the stock chrome. I think if I had black rims the black trim would look good. A quick question if I am putting in a new one and removing any old grills will I need to unscrew top rubber piece (the videos on changing the grills talk about removing this rubber piece to get at the tabs on the kidney grill) or can I just push it in?

Since you are already missing one, you can reach in with a small flat head screwdriver and pop the clips through the hole. I have a set of stock for 2011 335, which should fit if you wanna keep stock. I will donate them to you.
