07 x3 how to turn off electronics after lock the car??

Hi everyone
I just bought a used 2007 x3. I'm new, need some help

I have a Garmin GPS and also a bluetooth speaker setup and iphone connector.
The problem is after I turn off the engine and locked the car, all of my electronics are still on... I've tried probably 10 times and waited as long as 5 minutes each time...
I was looking from outside the window but all electronics won't shut off automatically...

Is something wrong or any setting I should do? I'm afraid it will drain the power if I forgot to turn it off manually.

Thanks for the help!!

If they are plugged into any of the 3 cigarette lighter sockets they will be on all the time. (Useful for battery charger, trouble lights, etc., but not so good for consumer electronic items.)

German cars typically have it this way, although I think more recent BMW models have one or more of them ignition-switched now. (Another quirk is the radio can be turned on for about 20 mins. without the ignition on.)

You need to do a search on how to easily set up an ignition-switched /separately fused feed.

Those cigarette lighter sockets don't lend themselves well to other uses anyway.

No wonders...
My first BMW, so I'm learning everyday.
I think I will just plug in the GPS only when I need to use it...

The consumer sockets should turn off after about 30 minutes, this is a codeable option.

Maybe for later years?

Up to 2007 at least, the list of options doesn't mention this.

("E83 Car and key memory programming options", pdf file under Miscellaneous Documents in the Useful Info. & DIY sticky.)

It makes sense to have the front 2 shut down with the sleep system, if the owner wishes, and keep the cargo area one always live.
