I'd say it is very likely you can get leather dash as a special order - just like on the MY13.

The Individual packages have nothing to do with the leather dash because in the US, it's not part of the Individual package.

The Mocha interior was very nice, and will probably be the color I would get. No contrast stitching that I could remember.

Wow. They actually listened to all the b*tching. That alone is enough to make me want a 2014.

Hmmm ... am I the only one reading this thread interested in the 535d (530d for the rest of the world)? That engine is the event of the year for me.

I'm interested in it too. Curious to see the expected MPG figures.

I'm interested, but personally couldn't justify paying for one

For me, too. Especially if BMW throws in an EcoCredit which would make it cheaper than the 535i.

But I think it is already cheaper or the same. I would buy it over the 535i because of the 30% more torque (stock), faster acceleration while driving (freeway overtaking) and the gas milage.

I have a feeling the days of those tax credits are over. But if there is one (even if it is only a marketing incentive), I would expect a similar hit to the residual.

The EcoCredit is a marketing incentive. There was a tax credit from the Fed Gvmt when the 335d and x5d first came to the US, but that is much less than the BMW EcoCredit.

Then we might assume that MF and residuals will be the same as the 535i.

Probably, but they could decide to subvent the MF and/or Residual in lieu of or in combination with an Eco credit.

I prefer the EcoCredit because as it stands today, I'll probably finance once I pull the trigger..

The 535d (aka 530d) is $1500 more than the 535i and the diesel will have slightly higher maintenance costs, all which should be offset by the increased mpg over a few years time.

BMWUSA.com seems to run on it's own timetable that no one can figure out

I think not.
I think its possible if in the $79-$80k MSRP territory, assuming the rates/residuals are similar (or heck maybe a tad better) than the current numbers.

As well as if can negotiate a $700 or so over invoice deal, also get that UDE $1k. Hopefully ordered 550s will be in before the Oct. 31st deadline.

Dynamic Handling Package with 528i M Sport

Is it me, or Dynamic Handling Package option is NOT available with 528i M-Sport Line???
If that's the case, it is very upsetting. does it mean, that M-Sport line cannot be had with sport suspension?
M-Sport Line includes M Sport package, which only seems to be purely cosmetic

M Sport line comes standard with an M Sport suspension. Adding DHP puts you back to an Active suspension (non M Sports suspension) with a sporty option tacked onto it. That's how it is for the 535i's at least.

The two suspensions can't co-exist. M Sport uses regular passive rear struts while the DHP uses active struts. This is no different than any other car - you have 4 struts which can either be passive or dynamic, not both.
The M Sport suspension (at least for 2013) is the same as the non M Sport suspension except for the coil springs, rear struts, and the front stabilizer bar. It does make a difference, but it's not a radically different suspension.

It is kind of puzzling why it is not available on 528 when it's available on 535?
How much M Sport suspension is different from the Active one with DHP in handling terms?
And how much sportier the M Sport suspension than the one, that comes with Luxury or Modern lines?

It's pretty typical for most car manufacturers that the more advanced or performance oriented features require you to move away from the entry level trim.
If you read through the threads on this board you'll find that many prefer the passive suspension to the active one. Search this forum for threads with "DHP" or "suspension" or M Sport" for more extensive discussions. Of course the best way to tell is to go out and drive 535's with the two suspensions back to back.

Also, be sure to do an extensive test drive in the 528i to make sure you like that engine. It's not for everyone.

I have 2011 535 xi now w/o Sport pkg (my wives), and I drove 535 with SP (passive)..
, which i definitely liked more.
I also drove loaner 528 with SP, and even though the engine is not 535, still, it handles much better, than my wife's 535 xi, and the engine is not objectionable. It isn't an easy choice, since I've had 545, and two 535 before.

Are you sure you can't get the passive M Sport suspension on 528i M Sports (2013 MY's)? That would be odd and unfortunate.

I think the passive suspension is the best and definitely sportiest of the bunch, even against the Active suspension with DHP and all those things. However like said above, it's like taking the previous suspension, lowering it, replacing some existing parts with more sport oriented ones, etc. It's still a comfortable and "luxury car" riding suspension all in all, but I find it to be very dynamic (and it doesn't need technology with marketing terms "dynamic" in their names to feel dynamic, hehe).
