Unsolicited Testamonial on Tires

Hello. I switched to regular get flat tires a couple of years ago. I installed Michelin Pilot Sport All Season Plus (PS/AS+) all around and am getting fantastic (to me) tire wear from these tires. I have never had a set of tires last over 30,000 miles on any car I have ever owned.

These tires have been 40,000 miles and the tire dealer says that they are still good for another 8,000 to 10,000 miles. I rotate them every 6,000 to 8,000 miles as Michelin recommends and keep proper inflation all of the time.

I have a 2011 328i which does not really have enough power to abuse tires, but I drive somewhat spirited in this car. I just wanted to share this experience with the forum group. Your mileage may vary, but I am amazed by these tires so far. They ride well and are not too loud when somewhat properly inflated (I run 32 psi front and 36 psi rear). I have the 17 inch, non sport wheels.

I can measure the millimeters of tread left if anyone is interested. I don't run tires down to where they get edgy or squirmy in the rain.

Oh yeah, I have the Michelin Promise which comes free with a new set of Michelin's. It promises to come change a tire (I keep a full sized spare tire in the trunk) or fix a tire if you ever have a flat tire. I have not had a flat tire so far, but it sounds like a pretty good promise.

328 has enough power to abuse the tires. Your mothers Camry also has enough power to abuse the tires. If you are not sure if this is possible bring your car by my place, I'll show you how to abuse your tires

You very likely have less than aggressive alignment settings. Rears wear particularly fast with -1.5 camber + BMW's e-diff.

Rotation is the key. I declined the sport option simply because I wanted the same size wheels/tires all around. I rotate mine every 5k. I had a '99 323 Coupe and got 48k out of the tires before they needed replacement.
