Location of option codes

I have a 1998 328i sedan that I just purchased, with 60,000 miles. This is my first BMW. Where is the sticker with the option codes (like GM puts on the underside of the trunk lid)? I wanted the codes to see what it has (things like limited slip, paint color code, etc, etc). Thanks.

The only list is on the window sticker, AFAIK.

Go to a dealership and give them your VIN. They should be able to print out a list of all the options on your car. My dealership's parts dept. printed it out for me today.

Or post it in the Ask-a-Dealer forum, and I'm sure someone will help you out.

The window sticker is a secondary source and not necessarily complete. Mine wasn't.

Lift the rear seat bench cushion. Stapled to its underside you should find a factory build sheet with the car's option codes, including abbreviated explanations. I believe the explanations are in German but if they are not, I might not remember that.
