M3 Lighting Question

I'm going to apologize in advanced for starting this thread. I know it's probably been discussed, but I searched for about 15 minutes and couldn't find what I was looking for.

I have been "in the market" for an M3 for a while. I should probably say that I'm preparing myself for entering the market. I've decided that I like the facelift change (led tail lights). So I've narrowed it down to 2011-2013. However, I can't seem to find any information on the lighting. When did BMW switch from the yellow hue halos and projectors to the "6000k" white look? Did this take place during a specific year or is it an option? I kind of like the "mean" yellow look to the halo and low beam. Although the white is a bit more modern and classy.

Any insight would be great. Also, does anyone recommend any sites for searching for used M3s? I'd like to purchase one this fall.

Regards,

Klemp

The M3 did not get the white halo update that the rest of the 3-series did. You can easily go after market if you want the white halos...

Agree w/ Mo. Have not seen in person but the V4 lights are getting excellent reviews. They have switches which allow the user to set the color/output...

Here is another option to consider...

The Hellst XRT H8 uses the most recent CREE LED that are the brightest LED's that CREE manufactures for automotive applications. They come with a two year warranty and are almost half the price of the LUX V4 (LUX V4 $249/set vs. Hellst XRT @ $145/set). The color is 6500K which is the best match for the xenon headlights. Here are a few photos from satisfied customers. These are high quality LED H8 angel eye lights at a very reasonable price point...you don't need to pay more.

To order go to www.bimmereyes.com

Cheers,
Ross
