X6 E71 / E72 (2008 - 2014)
The BMW X6 luxury crossover went on sale in April 2008 as a 2009 model year. BMW referes to the X6 as a Sports Activity Coupe (SAC) as it combines the attributes of an SUV (high ground clearance, xDrive and all-weather ability) with the stance, styling and roof line shape of a coupe. The E71 X6 was built off the E70 X5 (2007 - 2013) platform at BMW's Spartanburg, SC plant. Total worldwide sales were just over 235,000, sold mostly to the BRIC countries. US total sales was 34,082 vehicles.

X6 Radio Disply

Hello to all, I am having an intermittent problem with the radio display of a BMW X6 wherein the segments do not light up so I cannot read anything on it. Has someone encountered this problem before and what would be the best way to fix this? Are there any repair kits available online? Can someone post a procedure for the removal of this unit?

Can you clarify what you are trying to do? The radio display is actually the NAV screen.. There is only one display in the car and it is used to display not only the radio but all other car functions and features... Are you looking to remove your NAV screen? Or the CIC computer which controls the radio functions? Removing the CIC is fairly easy... The NAV screen is another story...

Is the screen messed up on all functions (ie NAvigation or car data, etc.) or is it only messed up when viewing radio stations/radio settings?

Hi, thanks for your reply. It is not the nav screen. It is the one that has display segments similar to an E36 multi-information display. Functions are all OK, only the display is acting up.
