So what's after the E70 for owners here?

With the F15 around the corner, I'm sure there are some people who will trade their E70 in for a F15.

That being said, what are considering as a replacement to the E70?

I have three choices right now. F15, new Q7, and Cayenne. Waiting on the F15/Q7 before making my ultimate decision.

Cayenne, I only use the 3rd row seat sparingly, so I figure I can do without it. F15 exterior is a no go for me

Actually might downsize, seriously thinking about a 335xi with the m performance package, need to somewhat satisfy my midlife crisis and still keep peace in the house

I didn't like the pre release artist pictures but I have just seen some pictures of what looks like the real F15 and I like it.

While my current X5 E70 is just one year old, I am thinking that I will have one of the last E71 M50D X6s next. I love the idea of a triple turbo diesel with 375hp

A Camry?!?!?

I drove a Q7 yesterday and have to say I was surprised at how similar it handled to my current X5. Why did I go drive another one today? The one I drove previously was not the TDI. Considering the time it's taking to order the '13 I thought maybe I should expand my horizons and look at the Q, GL (which NO way is that one going to work with a 3mo leadtime to order, especially at that price) and the JX. Didn't like the JX at all, of course no diesel on it was pretty much the deal killer for me.

I will probably stay true to my BMW roots and stick with the X5 though. I'm back to sifting through the CPO's to find one with the options I need. I just don't know if I'd be happy with anything other than the BMW.

I traded in a Q7 for my X5. Yeah, it drove REALLY well for how big it is. Audi did a fantastic job with it.

All jokes aside...that 2013 Ford Escape is looking pretty good.

Same 0-60 times as the X5 35i and high 20's MPG. Fully loaded around 32K

I am going to run my '07 x5 and '09 328i for as long as I can...although I would like to think I could reform and lead a lower consumption lifestyle, I will probably pick up a new x5 in early 2016...

JX doesnt really belong in the same category as the X5.

Its a mommy minivan that sits a bit higher than an actual minivan. Plus it has a CVT enuff said. However its great value, at $50K you are probably the closest to the self driving google car (infiniti safety shield). Plus the 3rd row is actually better than its bigger brother qx56.

I wanna sample the f15 to the mdx. Apparently you can really tune the SH-AWD to an aggressive sport mode, which I know its FWD chassis, but the X5's xdrive seems the same as the current model, no M differential....

New MDX design released and seems to have gotten the van styling treatment inside and out. I'm not liking it and the comments on Autoblog seem to agree. Blah.

Has anyone else noticed how some brands are using false advertising so to speak regarding tailpipes more and more?
I saw a new Benz GL 350 that had chrome around the normal dual exhaust pipes that each had a split down the middle to make it look like quad exhaust, which is isn't.
Today I saw a brand new Enclave that had big chrome tipping around the exhaust that mimics the Cayenne tailpipes, but it was just for show since there was a small standard circular exhaust tip in the middle. Wasn't an aftermarket either. Really Buick?
Just something I've noticed more and BMW seems to be more authentic with things like this compared to some brands.

The new MDX basically hides the exhaust from view now, so that's another story in ultimate blah.

Minivan styling is apparent with any new luxury CUV (thank you EPA, i love your emphasis on creating vehicles that are lower and hence more fuel efficient ). But the real thing is how it drives, and how it is to live with it. The MDX has IDS, which is comparable to the X5's driver profiles. SH-AWD is comparable to the X5's optional Dynamic Handling package which gives the 5, torque vectoring. However the 3rd row seats in the X5 are an afterthought, whereas the Mdx, although not too big of an improvement seem worth it. Now FWD ehh not feeling that move, but then again they did compensate the FWD chassis stigma with a bigger rear ratio then the front, and more of an adaptive to the drivers driving style atm tune-ability of the sh-awd system, steering, and throttle. Once both are in the market I want compare whether a 58/42 weight split with a electronics compensates for 51/49 weight split with no electronics actually works well.

Now the only game changer is the Audi Q7. MUAHHHH

I'm not sure I'll need another SUV. But if I do, I expect it would be a question of whatever is AFTER the F15!

My options are

1.F15 ( LCI version )
2. Audi Q7
3. Newer style X6 ( if it looks better than the rear of the F15 )
4. I'm also loving the exterior of the new LR sport.
5. I may just stick with my current E70 until the 4th generation X5 gets released.

I think the Cayenne while nice.. is just way too pricey for what I want to pay for.

Hoping to keep my E70 for 3 more years (or past 120K miles with my driving/yr).
What then? Not really sure. May have additional members in the family then - where's the promised X7? Really dont want to move to GL, Escalade, and that sort..

GL 550 and LR4 were on my radar... but

Benz was 30-40 big ones more and I heard it drove like a boat.

LR4 had reliability issues.

So there you go, Alpine White, M-Sport, M-Poooooower it is!

i thought the LR4 improved vastly on the reliability side. using a jag engine and electronics that seem more stable...?
