I just wanted to say hello. Picked her up May 31st.

I didn't build it, but it has everything I wanted. I love the new side markers and the angel eyes in bright white.

2014 Z4 28i
Alpine White
Canberra Beige Kansas leather interior
8 speed automatic
Tech Package
Comfort Access
Cold weather package

Boy is this thing fast for an inline 4

Question:

I read in the manual that this car has launch control. Is that a function that is removed at service? A friend says it will be.

Haven't tried it yet.

I don't know why they would remove LC. I've never heard of that being done. I would not launch it until after the "break in"
period.

It screams a lot.. turbo 4cyl-?? Test drove a 128 with the turbo 4- had to to get $1500 off my Z4 order, and I thought it was horrible!! My GF has a 2012- 128 with the inline 6 240hp and it is a rocket. I think the Turbo 4 is a bad decision for BMW.

Not a decision - a government mandate. We all gotta smile and love it. Wait til the eights and strong sixes start dropping like flies. It's gonna get ugly...

Alabama- Are you High?? Porsche doesn't make a 4cyl, so your saying they will be forced out of the US market? He could of bought a 6. That crap wont happen in my lifetime any way. FYi- I live in a condo building with 40 cars in the garage, we all went and traded are gas cars and bought Nissan Leafs, when we all tried to charge them the first night the building caught fire!!!! The point is is that this wont happen overnight. When it does ill be dead or in a wheel chair.

Not a newspaper reader, apparently. Google "CAFE Standards" and be enlightened. Your lifetime indeed! You expecting to check out in the next 10 years? And remember, the manufacturers can't wait until the standards are upon them; they have to design and produce the sippers in advance of the regulations. All these mysterious engine decisions, and who can figure out why "car guys" are downsizing, turbo-ing, plasticizing, and decontenting their vehicles? FM to you, huh?

Congrats on your new Z4! Enjoy it.

Launch control is only on 35is and 35i models with dual clutch transmission.

Yup... I figured that... no launch mode for my 28i.

Oh well, it's fast already.

I have LC on my Porsche 911-GTS and I've only used it 1 time, car is fast enough from a standstill, Its one of those things you think you want, but when you have it,you never use it!!! Or maybe its my age!!! It must be somthing to do with DCT. Not good on the car anyway, and if you go to sell. (In the Porsche World fanatics will request a diagnostic report on the computer that will show how many times the car was Launced, so it could work against you. FYI
