Thule/Yakima Setup on X3

This may not be helpful to many folks here but read enough about racks that I thought I would share this.

We have a tandem and had a full Yakima setup on our CR-V with a Sidewinder Tandem Rack. Yakima does not provide a rail/foot solution today and they suggested I go with Thule. They did have what is called a Mighty Mount for blade/aero type bars but I was told they are not sufficient to hold this heavy tandem rack and bike.

I needed to go with the Thule 460 Podium with square bars (extremely ugly) but will be safe and efficient when we go for an adventure. Here are the shots. Was quite easy to install.

Although I have yet to load the tandem on the X3, this gives you an idea of the tandem loaded on the old CR-V. As I said it is quite a nice design, easy for one person to load but "butt ugly".
