Still no signature or vehicle info as to model/model year/build date I guess I'll have to just look up information for as many E53 engines I can find. Please help us help you better...create a signature that includes your model/model year/build date so that we can better answer your questions...and if we need to look up information...we can look directly for information that applies to you...instead of looking for information that applies to every application.

If you have the M62TU V8 engine, then the answer is no:

Looks like the M54 engine also uses the variable speed aux fan:

auxilary fan and air con

ok thanks for the reply,as for the signiture havent got a clue how to do that but i have tried to research it.
now my vehicle is a 2006 bmw x5 30d
production date 10/6/2008
engine m57tu.

i have also checked to see if the fan spins freely and it does.
other than getting the computor hooked up to it which is difficult because of the distance involved i think first stop maybe to check on the total volume of refridgerent. i have no idea but im tied of getting fried for the first 7 minutes of air condition operation.

Wow...a diesel...I'm not sure any of the information I looked up works for your application. We don't even have those here in the USA.

But it's easy to create a signature. Just click the USER CP link at the top left of the page (it's in the black border that goes across the page that contains other links). Once you click the USER CP link, look along the left side of the page for the EDIT SIGNATURE link...then at least type in the model/model year build date info you gave us above.
