Post Playing Pandora in BMW X3

Hi,

I drive a 2012 BMW X3 and love to play Pandora in my car - I have an iPhone 5 with the latest OS (6.1.4 I believe) and connect it via a lightning cable. The issue I have is, when I plug it in and start playing a song, the name of the *first* song will get displayed on the BMW screen (most of the time along with a nice picture of the CD cover for that song). The problem is, the BMW screen doesn't get updated with each new song I play - the name and picture of the first song is still showing on the BMW screen. Any idea why and how to fix that so that the display gets updated each time a new song plays?

Thanks!!
Sacha-

Exact issue I have as well. If I play Pandora through Bluetooth I dont get the album art, but all song titles change with the song change. However, I'd much rather listen through Bluetooth AND have the album art change! Hopefully someone has figured this out!

Hi jman,

Thanks for your reply - interesting about song's title getting updated properly when connecting via Bluetooth instead of USB. Tried it this morning and you're right, that works better. However I found that the sound quality is inferior than when connecting via USB (allows volume to get a lot louder via USB). Are you experiencing the same?

Also, I found on the BMW website that, for the iPhone 5, the audio display issue seems to be a known issue. You can check it by entering your car's VIN # and then selecting the device you use to play audio:

Wish they had a solution for this. Oh well.

Cheers,
s-

I dont know that the sound quality is that much worse through Bluetooth for me. I havent noticed.

If I plug in my iPod (not phone) and play music from this, with album art, the art changes with each song. It must be something with Pandora or streaming music from the internet. Who knows. Maybe a future software update will fix the issue.
