2011 Backup Camera & Sensors

I just purchased a 2011 BMW X5, whoch unfortunatley came without a backup camera. I have found a few online that integrate with the i-drive, but would really like feedback from the forum. It looks like ModMyNav and Jemko Systems offer a decent Option for camera. Any feedback on these two or another one that is better? Also, is there a good options for backup sensors?

BMW X5 Rear-View Camera

Hey Dan, I was in the same position last month actually. I bought a used 2010 BMW X5 and because of the height preferred to have a backup camera. I did a bunch of research for about a week, called a few local shops and chatted with 3 online stores. I ended up buying the Jemko one because the sales guy knew what he was talking about and the system price was fair compared to the other places.

I had the system installed by one of their recommended installers in my area which cost me 200 all in and the system has worked perfectly so far. The camera image is sharp and I liked that I was able to adjust the parking lines.

System seemed easy to install and has been reliable so far. Hope that helped

beacongeorge, who did you use in Atlanta? Do you know if this works with the non-navigation screen? If it does, I might have the Jemko installed on my two X5's. $200 total cost isn't bad IMO.

I am thinking about installing one for our 2010 x5. I got a video interface and camera off ebay for about $300. I am planning to install it myself. If it's turns out to be too difficult I will probably find some pro to do it

I would love to share my experience after I am done.

I made a mistake and bought the wrong video interface unit. It will fit a 2006-2008 X5 or E60/E90 3/5 series. Pls let me know if you are interested. Otherwise I am sending it back to the seller.

I just got my 2013 X5 and did not get the rearview camera on it but want to add it. If you guys have any feedback or other options I'd really appreciate it, thanks.
I am very surprised by your statement regarding the coding of the Bimmerretrofit camera.
It says on the web site, that their camera has a self coding feature.
Even more, I had one of their cameras installed in my 2013 E70, and the installer was able to do the coding
By the way,I am very happy with it.
