I didn't know Mitt Romney worked for BMW?

On a more important note....I'm surprised they didn't incorporate those new LED angel eyes they had with the concept. Very disappointed. Other then that, I think it looks good.

sorry for the noob questions but, the 3 series is now exclusively a sedan and 4 series a coupe? no plans to make a 3er coupe or 4er sedan? what about the 2 series? is that only coming in a coupe?

Right. They are separating the lines for whatever reason:
1 series sedan
2 coupe
3 sedan
4 coupe
5 sedan
6 coupe
6 gran coupe (with 4 doors?)
7 series sedan

Just to keep things confusing there are plans for a 4 Series Gran Coupe and a 2 Series Gran Coupe in the same vein as the 6 Series Gran Coupe four door.

I believe that the LED lighting package will be an option on the 435i but I still haven't seen any pics of it. I wish there were more of the M-Sport floating around. I assume there will be several in the coming days.

Nope. The Gran Turismo is a 3er. Confusing enough?

Its certainly a good thing they've created all of these lines to simplify things... And we are the experienced BMW folks. Imagine how confused the general public will be.

Truer words have never been spoken. I think the Gran Coupe concept is most confusing though. A coupe styling with 4 doors. Hardly seems necessary but it must be what the public wants or else we wouldn't be seeing vehicles like the Mercedes CLA also advertising it.

You know what I'm thinking? At the end of all the current model years, for example the new 3 will come out around 2016ish? They might add these 4 series concept angel eyes to all the next generation bmws.

So the 1, 3, 5, and 7 series are sedans. Thats odd.

I like it...it has that aggressive bad ass feel to it that the E92 lacks (in my eyes, the E90 looks butch while the E92 is somewhat dainty).

The 4 Series looks like a legitimate fastback, like the Mustang 2+2.

Exactly what my wife said a few moments ago when I showed her the photos. She said it looks like a modern day Mustang, however.

World Premier: The All-New BMW 4 Series Coupe

It's a gorgeous car no doubt but with a starting base price of $41k, add $2.5-3.8k for the sport or m-sport trim for better handling/looks, and your misc. amenities, you're looking at a $50k+ car with a 240 hp engine. I know people will argue that you don't need to option it up that high but do you really want to be driving a $40k car that doesn't have comfort access, xenon/led headlights, heated seats, leather, etc.?

I know these other cars have their own set of issues but to play devil's advocate, a reasonably optioned 4-series is in the same price range as Audi's S4 and S5. I do love me the bimmer but that makes it a lot more difficult to justify a 428 4-series.
I'm with you on the pricing for the 4 series. While I was waiting for this car to released (which took too long IMO) I started to consider an S5 as well. I've owned and driven many audi's and while there great cars with nice interiors there still not a BImmer. No matter how hard I try I always come back to BMW. Guess I'm gonna pay the premium for the 435!

A bad thing.

It seems sorta "jacked-up" doesn't it?

For all the marketing language and emphasis on how they gave it an extremely low center of gravity with the low stance... Just seems the opposite to me.

Almost reminds me of some of those AMC cars from the 80s.

Can't wait to see this in person at work. Probably looks so much better in person like the 6 series imo. Very pleased that it's even lighter then the 3 series.

BMW projected lineup (# of doors):

1-Sedan (4)
2-Coupe & vert (2)
M235i (2)
2-Gran Coupe (4)
3-Sedan (4)
3-Wagon (4)
3-GT (4)
4-Coupe & Vert (2)
4-Gran Coupe (4)
5-Sedan(4)
5-GT(4)
6-Coupe & vert (2)
6-Gran Coupe (4)
7-Sedan (4)

X1 (4)
X3 (4)
X4 (4)
X5 (4)
X6 (4)

Z4 (2)

M2 (2)
M3 (4)
M4 Coupe & vert (2)
M5 (4)
M6 Coupe & vert (2)
M6 Gran Coupe (4)
X5M (4)
X6M (4)

Who exactly is going to buy all of these 8 million variants?
Just think of someone who wants a smallish 4 door car. With BMW they'll somehow have to choose between a 1 series, 2 gran coupe, 3 series, 3 GT, 4 gran coupe, 3 wagon, X1, and the X3 and this doesn't even include the M cars

Maybe I'm completely off base but I just have a hard time imagining there is enough demand to warrant so many iterations with such marginal difference between the models without seriously cannibalizing each other.
