Tire pressure on all four

Okay so Lets start with the fact I have the original Continental RFT the car was originally purchased with. I have 95,XXX miles. I'm well aware it's probably time to change them out, which I've been working on. But I don't think that is the problem. About 3 days ago my front right tire pressure sensor went off. This was the first time since I bought the car about a year ago. Then Today I go to start the car at work and I get the picture at the bottom saying all 4 tires are low? The tires don't look or feel flat and when I get home from work ill check my tire pressure. What other trouble shooting should I try? Is it abnormal for all 4 to go off all of a sudden?

If all four tires haven't been checked since the last time all four were brought up
to correct pressure, it's entirely possible all four tires lost pressure at the same
rate. Ideally tire pressure should be checked manually at least monthly if not
sooner. Even brand new tires lose pressure with time and temperature.
Low profile tires especially RFT do not "look flat" when pressure is low.

I've checked it before, but I've never needed air. Especially more than once in less than a week

Until you've checked the tire pressures on all four tires there is no reason to suspect its anything more complicated than the tires needing air.

You can say that again.

If they're not bald, there may be dry rot cracks the size of the Grand Canyon.

I've had all four TPMS show low at the same time also. Tires tend to lose air at about the same rate: 1 psi per month is about normal and our TPMS will send an alert when the psi is about 20% below the door placard pressure.

As you will need new tires soon, I see your possible "dilemma" in the age of your TPMS -- specifically the estimated battery life which can be anywhere from 5 - 9 years. You're in your sixth year.

At a minimum, I'd do a TPMS rebuild with the tire replacement.

Edit:

http://www.tirebusiness.com/article/...s-sensor-units

Some TPMS apparently can be diagnosed for "battery power level" but I'm not sure if this applies to our (typical OE) Beru TPMS. If I found that my TPMS batteries were getting low at your point of age and mileage, I might be tempted to replace them. Just a thought. '

Yes they have, I have to say I can't complain about the RFT as much as most people do. However I will be switching to go-flats and a spare. The 4 tire pressure's were all at about 23 psi. I filled them up and the front right had a nail in it. I'm going to buy new tires by the end of this week hopefully! Thanks for the feedback!

One of my friends has an 07 and the tire sensor batteries are done on it - she is just ignoring it as it is pretty expensive to deal with, but would be odd that all 4 batteries went dead the same day. First time I got a tire warning it was all 4, it was a bit cool overnight and the temperature change got all 4 out of spec.
