Official Columbus, GA BMW Thread

Hello Ladies and Gentlemen!
This will serve as the local Columbus and Fort Benning and surrounding areas Thread.
We have been building slowly here in Columbus, from one or two BMW's to now ten strong. So lets keep building. I have met a few of you out here and will be spreading this threads location via flyers and business cards. So if that is how you found this, welcome. Post up! Show off! and lets get a good local following started.

Since we are still small, lets leave it open to when and where we meet. Currently, we typically meet up with all the other car enthusiasts at Sonic off exit ten, near the large Carmike Theater - Wednesdays through Saturdays, anywhere from 7pm to midnight. But i suggest we use this as a place to discuss more detailed meet ups and events. So lets get to it.

Ill introduce myself and start off with a couple photos. And feel free to reply, comment, and meet up with me any time for local mini-shoots!

This is awesome, I'll be seeing you all on Wednesday if I'm in town and pictures will be taken on the next sunny day......Nice to see that we have a community that is willing to meet and discuss bimmers in my local area. By the way I'm Jay-R or at least that's what I go by.

We do our typical Wednesday through Saturday night meets at sonic just to see who is out. But how would you guys feel about a serious Saturday or Sunday "around noon" meet at some place casual? Starbucks? Krispy Kreme? Something away from the typical "late night, cheap fast food place" meet

Yea I figure more people will be able to make a mid day or at least mid afternoon get together.
That frees up everyone's lunch and dinner to do their own thing if need be, just come out, chat, then figure out the rest of their day.

Plus, I'm so tired of shooting cars at night haha

Hey guys, TArse referred me to here. Glad to see some Bimmers out and about in our area, it was hard finding people to come out when I moved here this past October!

Hey guys if y'all are interested in tracking your car, look up Roamin' Legion. We have two active chapters here and in the Fort Hood area, and one starting in Maryland, and one starting in the Fort Bragg area. There's a lot of "show" going on here in Columbus, and no "go." I'm trying to change that! We do NOT street race, especially in city limits; it's not the image I want for the club. We do autocross, drag, drift, HPDE, car shows (for charity), meets, cruises, poolside barbecues, garage days, etc. etc. You can find us at the Whittlesey Sonic on Fridays, or at www.facebook.com/groups/roaminlegion.ga and www.roaminlegion.proboards.com. Look forward to seeing you guys on Fridays!

I've always loved the 1 series. Especially the coupe. Especially the turbo variant. Especially the 1M.

There is a local exhaust shop here in Dothan that puts on an event at the local 1/8th mile drag strip called "Friday Night Lights Out" it's like the show pinks. Everyone gets "pink slips" and each race you bet a slip (or multiple if you've won a race already) and the car with the most slips at the end of the night wins the prize. I'll attach a link to the web page with all the rules.

They do this every fourth Friday of the month, so next Friday they will be doing it again. I believe it's $20 and even if you lose your slips you can still run if you'd like.

I haven't been yet, but was going to go check it out this next weekend and wanted to see if we could get a group of BMWs to come down (even if just to meet up and watch).

Here's the link to the page with rules. They have a link to videos of previous FNLO nights on their Facebook page.

Awesome. Keep me updated man. Lets get all the Columbus guys to come down.

Did you say you have some cards and flyers for the meets in Columbus? I need to make some for here in Dothan and also try and find if there are any meets around here.
