Wow! Looks very very nice!

Right now I would be too ashamed to park my car next to yours. At the moment we still have a mess on our street (new neighborhood and several houses still under construction) and with all the dirt, dust, concrete, etc., it's impossible to keep cars clean.

Ah.. carnauba. Have never used it as it does not last long but wow does it look good

Zaino is a decent long lasting wax. Here is the last black car I owned after two coats of Zaino. Keeping that car clean drove me nuts and I banned myself from black cars since:

Mine looks good but yours definitely trumps it

This pic was taken in Stamford, CT which should make the Darien guy feel good. Darien is where the super rich people live, regular rich people live in Stamford. I worked for UBS as contractor for a while and rented this house. The owner paid over $700K and it was a PoS IMO.. best PoS we could find by far though... amazing area!

Great job...no 'residue' in the gaps or around the letters. Be prepared to be assaulted by "car wax snobbery."

Even after waxing silver cars look kinda lame

I've had six or seven silber cars in a row after the black coupe as they barely ever need washing. The blue E93 is the first used car I've bought in over ten years and I really tried to find a silver one but they were all in bad shape or crazy expensive; then a 10.3K mile blue one appeared for relative peanuts. It should look good when time permits me to clay bar + zaino

My silver MX-5 has been washed about six or seven times in coming up three years

Its first detail happened last month: clay + two coats of zaino (same as my old coupe above). It looks good in low light but otherwise I say "Meh". Zaino lasts about a year and makes it super easy to handwash which was the main aim + I like to clay bar once in while

Got Shine?

There are "hybrid" carnauba/synthetic waxes that have good staying power and deep luxurious shine.

I mentioned one. Einszett Glanz is another and it is very budget friendly.

You can use a "California duster" to clean off dust, but this may scratch the car if not used properly.

In the end, which wax is easy to apply and remove with the least residue with a black car? Meguires has worked fine for me at a reasonable price for a black car, and I don't see any reason to use EXOTIC waxes as long as you clean the car frequently.

BTW...I checked to see if we had any car cleaner/wax sponsors in this forum...I couldn't find any (surprising to me). I'll check if we do for the Bimmerfest...

Looks good

Waxing wheels is a good idea on BMWs too as it makes brake dust much easier to clean off. I use NuFinish on the wheels which is a horrible product in many respects but lasts a very long time and costs peanuts at WalMart etc

Also you might want to emded the pics - image icon writes out the (IMG)(/IMG) tag and link goes in between like this:

Any opinion on AutoMagic's stuff. My neighbor swears by Banana Magic, so I tried it. Went on easy, came off the same, looks pretty good but not "wow!" Wondering how long it'll last.

14 years of driveway wash jobs every few weeks. Not really into the whole car detail thing although I do have my cars done every 2 years at the local detail shop.

How does it taste on the strawberries?

FYI zymol smells good enough to eat but I wouldn't recommend it. Unless you need to take a very slippery #2.
