Another Frozen Blue!!

Not shown in the photos but I love the contrast stitching found throughout the interior. Nice M3. It should find a home soon.

We just got this. An M3 is an M3, though. Enjoy the beast!

You could always see if they will take your car back on trade for what you paid or close to it and go into the frozen blue if you really want the frozen. Up to you. I personally would keep the car you got, but you could make it work if you really want the frozen.

I disagree. So long as you keep bird poop off it, you'll be fine.

And, given that you don't need to wax or clay bar, it's actually easier.

I love these: http://www.drbeasleys.com/shop/car-c...-car-care.html

(Disclosure: I do upkeep on a matte car.)

Actually it is quite a bit simpler and easier than typical glossy finish.

Totally agree.

And to think that when a bird craps on your typical car...you clean that off right a way too!.

Yesterday before a meet I cleaned the car with a damp microfiber followed by a dry one. Easy as pie.

I suspect BMW just throws out all these warnings since matte paint is unusual for most folks (it's hardly mainstream) and they want to limit their liability, etc., from mis-handling of the paint by the owner.

What exactly is the "Frozen Blue Edition" package, above and beyond the obvious special paint, that it's valued at ~$15K?

Update: I searched and found the following:

BMW Individual Frozen Red, White, or Blue exterior paint
Competition Package including:
Matte black 19" light alloy wheels
Electronic Damper Control
Lowered suspension (-10 mm)
Sport mapping for EDC and DSC
Premium Package
Black Extended Novillo leather with contrast stitching in exterior color on seats, headrests, door inserts, armrests, middle console, and door pulls.
Carbon leather trim wCold Weather Package
M-DCT Transmission
Rear spoiler delete
Moonroof
Heated Front Seats
Automatic High Beams
Satellite Radio with 1-year subscription
BMW Apps
BMW Individual Enhanced Premium Sound

Additional Features:
High-gloss black side gills
High-gloss black exhaust pipe tips
6-speed manual transmission
Carbon fiber roof panel

Am I missing anything else?

I think this is true. The main reason is to warn you to never never never apply wax. I was planning on using the local touch-free car wash if I can get a guarantee that the wax cycle can be completely deactivated.

The "Frozen" package includes the Competition and Premium packages, extended leather, individual paint and contrast stitching. In addition, the high-gloss front and side grilles are included. The other options car vary between Frozen ordered vehicles including DCT vs. MT, Enhanced Audio, Cold Weather vs. heated seats, apps and sat radio.

BMW considers the Frozen paints to be a Individual color. The standard adder is 5k USD. Add the included packages (roughly 6.5k). The difference would be associated to the black rims, stitching and trim pieces.
