Costco recently quadrupled the EPA-required amount.

Actually, it was more than 20 years ago - 1987, with a 1986 VW GTI....

Once burned, twice shy as it were (or however the saying goes).

Out of curiosity, how fast is your Internet connection? Slow page load usually means a slow connection. Unless your computer is more than a few generations old.

It doesn't matter. It is always only a question of time. I made a first quantum leap when I switched from provider with 28 kbps modem to 54 kbps modem (1999). Man! What a warp speed that was! For about 6 months, until idiots caught up and started loading pages with sh|t nobody needed and brought the load speed down to where it was - about the same as 28 kbps.

Fast forward today. I have very speedy connection (cable) to a laptop and 4G to my phone. It's fabulous. But only because idiots didn't figure out how to put more sh|t on the pages/e-mails. Just to make sure we understand each other, by "idiots" I mean Microsoft enablers, too, not just users.

Just imagine ... IF the Web pages were made as they were even only 10 years ago, with today computers and Internet speed, loading documents would NOT be the same as loading the content from your local magnetic drive, it would be the same as loading it from local SOLID STATE drive. But I guess that is or would be utterly uncool.

I truly wish there would be one www for crap and the other www for information. That would be awesome.

OK, end soapbox and end OT. Back to top tier gasoline. Thank you for listening.

The issue stems from the individual links in the animated gifs, if one or more of those stall, it slows the page loading. I'm fiber 50/50 up/down respectively. It has nothing to do with the age of the node, it's the links. Try loading some pages form the mobile app, over 3/4G, it's pathetic.

I hear you, but I personally haven't had any page loading issues, and I'm only on Comcast 50 down.

I wanted to tear you a new one earlier about the page loading comment, something to the tune of E90 M3 Owner, GET A BETTER CONNECTION, but then you stated your connection (which is fast enough). Hehe.

Let's not limit it only to load time. Graphic card, CPU (core technology) and available RAM are more important than internet speed.

Sorry, computer science degree comes out randomly.

To be honest, my home/office nodes have no issue, it's the mobile side; I can't have fun in the threads from a bar if I can't load the pages , and the size of the gifs aren't the issue either, it's the outside links, which a simple traceroute to their sources confirms some are slower than others to serve them up.

Psh, no issues on my end for LTE on north east. You don't have to tell me about links, . Also, you're at a bar looking at these forums? Slow night?

I did Grad. @ WPI, working in the military area for software sector at the moment. Pay is good, and every day is different. Fortunately, I spend most of my day goofing off on forums.

Sure wish I was in a nice climate like Georgia.

GA sucks. I'm dreaming to retire my 30 year old ass in FL sometime soon.

Yeah, our field is pretty slack. However, when it rains - it POURS. I deviated away from programming to web dev/SEO stuff.

Sorry for threadjacking
