Exclamation 2008 BMW 323i Engine Overheating

Hi Guys,

So just bought a BMW 323i a month ago from a dealership. Had all inspection reports done and vehicle was running amazing, had it serviced two weeks ago, they told me everything was great.

Problem is that today a whole bunch of problems showed up:

1) Lock actuators are busted on all four doors, fixed that temporarily by replacing with new fuses
2) Engine light is on, possibly from disconnecting battery to fix lock issues
3) ENGINE IS OVERHEATING - especially around the coolant reservoir, checked all fluids to see if there was any mixing but there is nothing. Then checked for any leaks, nothing as well. No sounds from the engine either....

So what exactly could be wrong on number 3? Any ideas... trying to get into a dealership but can't before July.

3 is probably the water pump. If you get the pump changed, get the thermostat done as well.

Hi bhatthal and welcome to the Fest,
First off having owned a 323i, my money would be on the water pump as well, but I'm not very good at disgnosing issues. Secondly, you have posted in the wrong forum. Your car is an E46(1999-2006) body style. The forum you are looking for is here: http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=98 Lastly, when and if you repost in the correct part of the forum, they are probably going to ask you to provide more information, (i.e creation date, mileage ect.), just a little heads up.

Good luck!
