E82 / E88 1 Series (2008 - 2013)
BMWs throw back to the iconic 2002, with a renewed form and function. The smallest car in BMW's line up but still packs a punch. Available in coupe or convertible, powered by either an inline 6 in the 128 or the twin turbo rocket sled 135.

Alarm Indicator Light

First, let me say "Hi" to all y'all. New 135i Sport Cab member here. Hope to be just as active here as I was for 9 years on Rennlist while a Porsche 993 owner.

Matter at hand: According to the o.m., when the alarm system is armed the red light on the bottom of the interior rear-view mirror should continuously blink. Mine doesn't go on at all. Is this customizable or is the bulb burnt out or ?

Thanks!

dknl,

No, I'm the nubee with the dumb questions. I assumed that it was included with the "Premium Package" and "Alarm pre-wiring" (and because that big red bulb was hanging from the mirror). If not, that's the answer!

You are in luck, you can install the alarm since your car is pre 3/2009. It takes a few hours and works well including the clown nose flashing when on.

Thanks, rpsz4. Can you direct me to a source of DIY/part numbers?

Www.getbmwparts.com. That's where I get most of my parts although there are other sources also. Jason at Tischer BMW/Porche is great to deal with.
