TMS Racing Returns to Homestead

TMS RACING RETURNS TO HOMESTEAD

Fan Appreciation Weekend Includes Free Admission Tickets

HOMESTEAD-MIAMI SPEEDWAY, Homestead, FL, USA -- Daytona race winners Turner Motorsport are back in Florida this weekend at the Homestead-Miami Speedway for round two of the Grand-Am Koni Sports Car Challenge. The team will pack a 1-2 punch in the GS class with its two BMW M3s and strike hard in the ST class in the team's new 2009 BMW 328i. Returning to a Turner Motorsport seat is Frank Selldorff, who has raced with the team in World Challenge and in SCCA and BMW Club Racing. Frank will pilot the 328i with team owner Will Turner. This weekend also sees the addition of Forgeline Wheels in an offical sponsor and technical partnership role.

Turner Motorsport is excited to be back in Florida. This is not the first time the Koni Challenge series has been to Homestead. The last time was 2007 where the Turner team scored podium finishes in both the GS (Auberlen/Gleason) and ST classes. The series is looking to make a splash in South Florida with a Fan Appreciation Weekend. By logging onto grand-am.com/konitickets fans can print out free passes to the speedway including free access to the paddock and garage area for both Saturday's and Sunday's races.

Turner Motorsport's two M3 racers will have familiar names this weekend - round 1 winners, and Championship leaders, Bill Auberlen and Matt Bell will pilot the #96 Motul Lubricants M3; Chris Gleason and Joey Hand take the wheel of the #97 Stoptech Brakes M3. Auberlen is also a past winner at Homestead in the 2007 Grand-Am Rolex Series Grand Prix of Miami. Re-joining the team for Homestead and beyond will be Frank Selldorff. Frank raced in the Speed Touring Car Series in 2003 with a best finish of fourth in Washington D.C. His Touring Car drive is bracketed by several seasons in SCCA and BMW Club Racing, where he scored multiple class wins in Turner-prepared M3s. Will Turner will be his co-driver in the #95 Borla Exhaust 328i.

Forgeline Wheels officially joins the team this weekend - supplying new lightweight forged alloy wheels for the GS class M3s and the ST class 328i. The team has been using Forgelines at select times over the last two seasons and the relationship became an official partner/sponsor arrangement last month. Forgeline's edge in producing strong yet lightweight modular race wheels was a perfect fit in the team's racing platform and tuning business. The racecars will use Forgeline's ZX3R wheels. Forgeline joins an elite group of motorsports and tuning firms that lend invaluable assistance to the team - H&R Springs, StopTech Brakes, Borla Exhaust, Pagid Racing, Motul Lubricants, and Piloti Driving Shoes.

This weekend's activity starts off with Practice on Thursday, Practice and Qualifying on Friday, the ST Race on Saturday, and the GS Race on Sunday. Each race is 2.5 hours around the 2.3-mile combined road course/oval.

Live timing and scoring is available thru the Koni Challenge website - http://grand-am.com/koni/schedule/event.cfm?eid=878
