Cool Making my BMW louder

So I want to make my new BMW 320d Coupe E92 louder. It's obviously a diesel and I might sound stupid uploading this but I was hoping someone could tell me what I have to do in order to achieve this. I don't know a lot about the mechanics of cars, but if you could just explain it to me in some lame terms for me I'd much appreciate it.

Making my BMW louder

I'm pretty sure you meant "layman's terms" not "lame terms"?

Most people want to quieten diesels down...not make them louder!

He's trying to make his car louder for just for the sake of making more noise.

I think that "lame" is an accurate term.

Are you looking for clack? That's changed by fuel injection timing.

Exhaust note? That's a muffler issue.

Recommend you search for diesel clack and/or diesel muffler forum[s].

Making my BMW louder

When I drove an '86 Mercedes 300 SDL, I used to have to tell people, "Well at least it's not as loud as a garbage truck."

Your results will be similar.

Check with member KillaB - I seem to remember that he had similar needs. Search!

Pour five to eight pints of Fosters down its neck, mention cricket, and see what happens. Assuming that the car is considered Australian, and considering my experience of Australians in the UK, you will get all the loudness you need...and then some.

[NB. If the model you have is ca. 2010+ and you mention cricket, you might hear a high pitched whining from the engine, as opposed to the dull, monotonous drone of the previous decade's models]

[Cricket joke - should "kill" on Bimmerfest!!!! ]

Last time our SUV developed a loud rattle, it was a loose exhaust clamp. So it seems that the more screws you loosen, the louder the car gets. Good luck!
