Questions for 2009 335d

After all the updates, my car used to give like 34-36mpg on the hwy.
Now I getting at the best 30mpg in Hwy. They test drove and got like 31.2mpg.
They think all of a sudden it is my driving style?? I don't drive hard just the same way
I always did. I have about 38K miles.
I also put new Non-RFT tires that are like 2 lbs. lighter, that should shave off
like 7-8 lbs. overall.
I also put either Shell or Chevron diesel fuel.
I have taken it to two dealers and they quite don't know what to do.
BMW will not respond.
Does anyone have the same problem?
Also, does have anyone had any issues with high mileage 335d?
wanting to know what repairs to expect as my warranty is expiring this
August 2013.
Any one recommends to get extended warranty? with BMW or aftermarket?
I get e-mails from BMW for $200 off.
I am planning to keep this car.

I think I got 3 or 4 software update. The second one the worst in term of gas mileage. The most recent update, earlier this year to solve a recurring injector #2 and #4 problem, is not too bad in term of gas mileage, maybe almost as good as the software that came with my 2010 Sept 2009 built car.

With multiple visits to the dealer to solve recurring SES light, recall, software update, urea system and injector problems, I am planning to get an extended warranty before my original warranty expire in November 2013. I will get the powertrain Plus from BMW. The quote that I got from my local dealer is MSRP is much more than $200 above the quote that I got from a west coast BMW dealer.

Interesting. A guy from San Antonio with a 2011 335d is posting about a 10 mpg loss on the e90post diesel forum there. Has something changed in TX?

However, on your problem, if you look at the threads from last year discussing the recall, there were initial complaints about decreased mileage, but in the end the consensus was that it was just a blip while the computer re-learned the engine adaptations.

If you get a warranty, check with daniel @ pacificbmw (other posts in this forum) for the best prices. Living in TX, you don't have access to the CA 7/70 warranty and since the emissions system seems weak it might be worth the $2500 or so, as the parts are very expensive.
