Bought a 2009 335i today

I sold my WRX today and bought myself a 2009 335i. It's got 40k miles, black on black leather, navigation, sport package, premium package, and heated seats (which I find absolutely useless in Dallas). I also just recently bought an 2007 X3 as well. The X3 is what inspired me to move from the WRX to the 335i. So far I'm not regretting the switch at all. I look forward to learning much from you guys as I did over in the Subaru community.

Nah, heated seats should be great in Dallas. They make the seats 80 degrees or so when I use mine in December, so on a 95 degree day, that should make the sets feel cooler, right?

Very nice car you've got there. I will confess to having a soft spot for black-on-black.

Love the twinkle in the headlight's eye in that first picture.

That's actually backwards of what happened. Lol. I lost a little power, but the mpg's have gone up slightly. I was only getting about 18 mpg in the WRX.

Here's a few shots of the Subaru.

Beautiful car ...... and one of my all time favorite BMW wheels!

I'm sure you have read up but are you by chance still under the tail end of the 48 month 50k factory BMW warranty and maintenance?

That car is due for plugs at 45k and anything else you might squeeze in if the time has not expired!

Thanks! Actually, I have one week left on the warranty and I paid for the maintenance plan up to 100k. I would assume that the plug change would be covered in the maintenance plan, right?

You would think but better to read the plan and make sure what it covers.

Brake fluid change is due at 48 months so you can get that done along with wiper blades this week for sure!

Brakes and oil are condition based so if the car is not calling for them they will have to come under the extended maintenance plan.

Aaron,
Nice car! Welcome to the forum and the BMW community (you seem to be on a BMW buying spree ). I'm B-on-B also (not the most practical color in hot climates!).

WRX owner's used to "hunt me" when I owned my E46 M3. I often wondered what their next car would be

Hey, thanks a lot! And yes, it does appear that I'm on a BMW buying spree. I'm thankful that I'm in a position to be able to do that.

When I had my WRX, people were always trying to get me to race them. I got tons of challenges from guys in turbo diesel Ford and Chevy trucks, it was kind of weird. I'm hoping to be left alone in this car though.

Oh, I gotcha. Honestly, the 328i wasn't even a consideration for me. It was the turbo that drew me to the 335i. If I hadn't found this car, I probably would have bought an Evo X.

You will be fine as far people challenging goes. I took over the 2009 335i as well in march in Monaco blue. this car is wolf in sheep's clothes. Only people who knows about this will mess with u. Look into installing a chip like jb4 or procede hp difference will easily be gained. Just my 2 cents. Have fun with it...
Mike

Aaron,
The WRX 4WD handled quite well on the track, and I was intimidated with a "good driver" more than once during my BMW CCA driving school events (vs. my M3), especially if it was "modded" (turbo boost) as many of them were.

I actually thought of getting an STi, but Subaru discontinued this (your) body style...I can't remember the year...and went to a hatch back. Ugly. I recall talking to the L.A. area Subaru dealer about financing. No leases. They said that "car boys" (working at Burger King) would typically finance them for 6 years with parents co-signing. Geez...then spend another $3K+ on mods.

People will challenge you. I get challenged all the time, but since I have a 328 I have to pick my battles carefully.
