2011 328xi - Is it a good buy?

I found a used 2011 328xi available locally. It's in great shape, has 12,000 miles. M-Sport package, premium package, comfort access. Nice blue color, maybe LeMans blue. Inline 6, 6 speed auto.

I haven't had my test drive yet, or had a chance to look at it (possibly Tuesday). Is there anything with this model year that I should look out for? Things I should be aware of before I think of buying?

Since its from carmax I would make sure it wasn't a rental/leased vehicle. And get it checked by someone who knows BMWs well.

You should be aware of whether or not a BMW warranty is in place. If not, well, you might discover for yourself what to do.

You should do some reading. With SEARCH as your guide, you discover much in this forum and others.

Few prob's, 328xi, but gotta wonder why it isn't still w/original driver. Plan a few questions; run if BS'd.

What do I need to look out for with a leased vehicle? I've been weighing new versus used, and wasn't sure what to watch for when a car was a previous lease.

People tend to beat on leased cars more. So it may have more wear and tear then one that wasn't a leased vehicle. I'm sure others on this forum can answer better than I can.

I did a little more digging and got a Carfax report.

It still has 1 year left in its original warranty.

The car was in an accident involving the right rear. It makes no mention of severity. The sales associate also reported a "light smell of cigarette smoke" in the car. Which makes me worry. I'm allergic to cigarette smoke, and I'm going to have 3 kids riding with me.

I also don't know the best way to assess the repair from the rear collision. I don't know if it was just sheet metal damage for if the frame was involved.

I should put up a poll. I'm still going to check it out. But between the fuel mileage, the accident, and the smoke smell, I'm having serious doubts about it.
