Sh*tty. I mean, the mat is great quality. The box fell apart after about a month in the cargo area...

I don't care about the box. How is the cargo liner portion that has the mat connected.

It is OK. I have no issues with it. The fit was so-so (a few wrinkles) at first but since has adjusted. Overall, I would recommend it.

See Mats vs Liners

As reported there I purchased that mat (mat+pull out sill protector + box = one BMW part) for less than I could have gotten the Weathertech product (BMW dealer selling on eBay). The Weathertech product is just the mat.

I have not yet used the sill protector, but have used the mat and collapsible box. I've had the box full of cleaning products and a paper towel roll and a quart of oil for about a month now. No issues with the box - it has not fallen apart. But you get it whether you want it or not with the mat and the mat is great! I think the box design is pretty ingenious. The bottom of the box has dimple that mate with the dimples on the mat so it does not slide around (as much). I received a slightly sifferent size box with the car (was stowed under the cargo area floor with the cargo net).

They look better than the cheap plastic box that I had in my old X3 that I got at the dollar store

I had a WeatherTech in my 06. I liked it. However I do like the sill protector. I can get the mat/box/liner for $76.

I like mine, both mat and box. Keeps stuff from moving around.

I think you will be happy with it. It's a great piece of kit for the price. I am completely satisfied with mine.
