Halo replacement

Drivers side halos are out. Is it something hard to DIY? The video I saw in YouTube the guy went in through the bumper, if that's what needs to be done ill head to the dealer.

How much is it to get the dealer to change it?

If you're talking about one of the early model sedans then you do need to remove the front wheel and the fender liner to get at the bulb. I just replaced one of mine a few weeks ago and found it a bigger pain than changing a light bulb should have to be, but by no means a difficult job. More tedious than anything.

Not sure what a dealer would charge. Maybe around $75, but I truly am guessing. I didn't inquire as I wasn't about to pay anyone to do the job. I also wish I'd ordered the bulb ahead of time as I would have probably saved another $20 on the part.

Hi,

I have a 2006 330i. Few years back my passenger side halo/angel eye went out. Dealer charged me over $200 to replace it.

Roll forward and I learned how to do it myself. Replaced the stock yellow ones with nice aftermarket brighter ones. I was able to do it without removing the wheel and just 'bending' the fender liner.

Agree with poster above. Not difficult but tedious. I understand that some E90 halo/angel eye bulbs access can be different though. I am only familiar with mine.

That would be an early model sedan so what I mentioned above would apply to your car. I'd rather just have the fender liner out of the way for easier access, personally, but you can always try bavariaman's suggestion if you opt to change the bulb yourself and want to minimize the labor involved.

When mine used to go out (Parking lights they're called) before I bought LED's, I'd just pop the hood and do it blind with a mirror and flashlight. Takes an extra 15-20 minutes but w/e, easy (just time consuming). Driver's side you'll need to take the filter out to get to it.
