Annoying rattle... After recall service

Hi All,

After having taken my 2008 328i coupe in for the "recall" to replace the main power supply cable at the dealership....the car has developed a rattle from underneath, sounds like drivers side. Does anyone know how the repair is done? Did the dealership have to go underneath the car and perhaps have to remove any of the heat shields to do the repair? Coincidence also that the rpm in neutral and drive is around 600 RPM? With a/c on the rattle goes away. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Cheers!

My understanding is that they need to remove the dashboard to make the battery cable repair. A number of people reported that their cupholders didn't work after the repair, because the dash wasn't put back the way it should be. I don't know about going in from underneath.

What's replaced is the battery cable connector that plugs into the fuse box which is on the backside of the glove box. They don't pull the dash, just clean out your glove box since they need to access behind it. Mine goes in tomorrow for the recall service on Thursday.
